The kit comes with supplies for 2 tests, which worked well for us as my husband was able to test six months apart and observe how the changes he made improved his motility. The instructions provided in the kit and the app are very easy to understand. The app allows you to check off completed steps, highlighting the next one, which is convenient. Although there is some waiting time for the sample to be ready, the app includes a trivia game to pass the time. Once the slide is placed in the device, the results are available quickly. It is fascinating to watch the video of the sperm swimming. A clear chart appears, displaying motility sperm counts with color coding to differentiate between low, medium, and high levels. While it seems accurate, we have not verified it with a lab. This kit provided us with a general idea of potential issues, as we have been trying to conceive for a while. I appreciate having the initial test and having a follow up in the same kit so we could see positive results from lifestyle changes. The overall testing process is not too time-consuming, taking about 20 minutes once the sample is mixed with the powder.

What a great product! Being able to get accurate results about your fertility from comfort of your home is an amazing accomplishment! Gone are the days of needing to schedule appointments at clinics, produce your sample there, and have to wait for some technician’s report about the viability of your sperm. The app was intuitive, easy to use, and allowed me to save the report to any number of cloud file services like OneDrive, Google Drive, etc…I could even text it to my partner and our doctor if I wanted! The video it produced of your boys swimming was an added bonus. I can’t recommend this enough to couples who are starting their fertility journey and want to do it from the privacy of their home.

I had some issues getting my wife pregnant. Sure enough I used the test. My sperm had no mobility. I did some protocol to improve my sperm. Count and mobility took another test a few months later I had a normal sperm count and mobility a week after testing we found out my wife was pregnant.

Connectivity issues right from the get-go. The app will walk you through how to connect to the device via your wi-fi settings and give you a "Connection Test Passed" prompt only to then say connectivity issues during the actual test itself. There is no way to skip any of the timers, so on both of my tests I ended up with skewed results because of having to re-run the test multiple times over. Retrying the test four times the first time I used it did the trick (6 minutes each attempt), and then on the second test I did several months later retrying the test, unplugging, and plugging the device back in finally gave me results for that one.Only problem with that is because you're having to fight the connectivity issues with the device, the sample is pretty much sitting idle and the results end up skewed because some of the sperm begin to die off. I took the results of both readings to my PCP and got a referral to a fertility clinic because I was concerned by the test results, one day after I had tested at home. Long story short, in-clinic test revealed that the YO Home Sperm Test results were completely inaccurate and my numbers were a lot better than those given by the YO test. All this, and believe it or not the cost to visit the clinic was less than the cost of this device. Long story short, before you drop $80 on this glorified paperweight, just go with the basic test strips or go see your Primary Care Physician or visit a fertility clinic.The only positive thing I can really say about this device is the live video feed is pretty cool. The instructions in the app are pretty straight-forward as well, and overall it's easy to use. There's a lot of potential with it, but the software/connectivity issues just don't make it reliable. I believe I'm past my return date with my unit since I got it back in November, and I don't believe Amazon accepts returns for "medical equipment" anyways, so I just tossed mine in the trash.

I bought this as my husband and I are starting family planning. It was great to get an idea of if we would have issues and who it may come from. The system was straightforward to use. However, there was no instruction manual. We realized that all the instructions were in the mobile app and that the app was set up to time the waiting period. So we sat around for 20 minutes in total, but at least 10 of them were spent learning fascinating facts about the male and female anatomy! I would have given it a five, but like I said no where in the booklet provided does it tell you about the application being the gatekeeper to all the instructions.

The app includes short videos at each step to show you how to easily get a sample ready for testing. The built-in timer was very much appreciated. Once the YO device is done processing the app shines with a video showing your exact sample and the data points it collected. I honestly didn't know there were as many data points about sperm as the app provides, and the drop-down for each gives a fuller explanation of what each part of the test is looking for.

The Yo At-Home Test was a very clear and straightforward do-it-yourself product. The supplemental video instructions made for an easy-to-use test, and I was impressed by the quick and comprehensive results. The app walks you through step-by-step, so be ready to go right after the collection. The video feature is amazing technology with clear microscopic video quality; it was actually fun to see the swimmers!
