Perfection
What a brilliant idea . Just click it into the camera, you will have to remove the ring first on the Leica but this takes seconds . It fits perfectly and works so well offering protection in most weathers but also saves you from ever losing the small lens cover which comes with the cameraLooks good and highly recommended

Great Value
Very good, works well only thing missing is the Leica logo. But for the cost saving I’ll put up with that!

Nifty lens cap.
The Panasonic Lumix LX100ii comes with a clip on lens cap that I knew I would inevitably lose at some stage. This lens cap (OEM version also available somewhere I believe) solves that issue and even works with a filter on the lens.It has three sections and when you switch on the camera the lens pushes through them like a robotic Jack in the box. Cleverly, when you switch the camera off, the reverse happens and the three petals close to protect the lens.To fit the lens cap you have to remove the metal ring that surrounds the lens. This was quite stiff to move on my camera, so much that I thought I might be damaging the camera, but after watching a reassuring YouTube video I persevered and managed to remove it without any damage being done.Definitely a useful addition to my camera.

Good Quality but Slightly Flawed
Functions perfectly but is a very loose fit to the camera. It has become detached a few time whilst out and about so I presume I will lose it at some point. I won't be replacing it at £13 a pop I'm afraid. If the seller has any suggestion how to keep it attached I would be most grateful.

fantastic - just like OEM
I have fitted this to my new Leica D Lux 8 (with a 43mm filter already in place) - you would have to take off the filter and grasp the camera tightly to remove the lens outer ring - then refit the filter and this clicks in place on a third turn - just like the Leica but one fifth of the price!! Have used it about ten times now - just opening and closing the cap -its seem a bit silly to start with but if you are anything like me who always looses lens covers - this is an absolute must. Even if it breaks, I can buy four more replacements and still be cheaper than the Leica OEM piece - absolutley love it!

No useful instructions
I really wanted this product because I was fed up with removing the lens cap all the time. However, a really small piece of paper passed for instructions. It's hard to get a ring off the lens surround so you can get this on instead and it then acts as a lens cap. When you turn the camera on it pushes through the new cap. But as I could not find instructions on how to mount this and did not want to damage my camera I returned it. To be fair Leica does not provide good instructions either. The refund was applied quickly so that was good. I'm sorry I couldn't give it a proper test hence the low ratings.

Very useful.
Now, this is a very handy lens cap, it may look a little odd when opened but be assured the lack of a swinging cap, on it’s bit of string, is well worth the oddity! The only occasional issue comes when add-on filters etc exceed the closed space beyond the lens, or, the add-on has a larger diameter than the lens group, then the ‘petals’ could stop the lens retraction.
