will center tray hold rubbing alcohol or will it leak?

No, it will not hold alcohol. The tub is folded and has small holes in the four corners. You can hold the stove (cooker) tub up to a light and see through the holes. I added Alcohol (without lighting) and it leaks within a few seconds. The "tub" design along with the added wind shield increases the burn time on 3 different manufacturers solid fuels. (24 minutes with 1 x 14 gram hexamine.) I like the unit. Bought multiple and will recommend these over other folding stove designs. I will recommend NOT using liquid/alcohol fuel.

can i use a trangia with this?

Firedragon is designed for solid fuel tablets, so my answer is no to trangia.
