Oneida 2865045AL20 Flight 45 Piece Everyday Flatware Set, Service For 8

Replacement set. I had missing silverware from my original set, so I ordered these. They are less chunky than the originals, which I liked better.

This set was a pleasant surprise. It is heavy enough not to bend. We always rinse before putting it in the dishwasher and it has not stained or rusted which happens quickly in our climate. It sits well in your hand. Great purchase for the price!

Since this brand is well respected and the chromium/nickel ratio was 18/10 I expected this set would be heavier. I was very disappointed when I opened the box and this was lighter than my previous set of Oneida. I should have returned it, but was in immediate need of flatware so I kept it. Although I can recommend the Oneida brand, if you're looking for heavier flatware, this isn't it.

Considering my first Oneida set cost $90 in 1970, I couldn't resist the Big Spring Deal at 43% off. Comparing the two sets, this one isn't as heavy as the first.This pattern was chosen because it offered a selection of open stock pieces not available in other patterns. Extra forks are always needed before I run the dishwasher. The tall drink spoons and steak knives are an added bonus.The only thing I don't like is the mirror finish as it shows water spots and fingerprints.

They were very nice however I did not like them because they were not heavy. They had the weight of plastic. Just felt cheap.

Good silverware for the price. Matches my set I got for our wedding 20+ years ago!
