8 years hard use and still awesome
It’s 2025 and I purchased this in 2017. The outside zipper died a few years ago but the bag is otherwise in very good shape. It gets used constantly as we are liveaboard sailors. It was $56 in 2017 so not a terrible price now at $79.

Great durable bag that keeps your items dry
I bought this in Feb 2023 for a trip to Costa Rica. This bag worked great - kept my items dry. It was completely submerged and brushed against rocks etc. It has held up great. We continue to take it with us on trips where we need a dry bag. This bag is very durable. We got the 25L. I am now looking for a smaller one to keep items too.

Excellent backpack!! Loved it so much I bought a 2nd one! :)
Absolutely LOVE this 35L backpack. I purchased it in bright yellow! :) I was planning a sailing trip from Oahu to Maui & needed a nice dry bag to pack my stuff in. When the boat keels over, sometimes stuff can get thrown around. The cabin soles can be wet so I wanted something to keep all my stuff dry but still was a reasonable cost. I had made the mistake of using a regular duffel bag last time I sailed to Maui which left some of my clothes inside soaked. This time, I wanted to have a drybag!I found this dry bag while browsing on Amazon. Originally, I had bought the 60L duffel from Såk Gear but after receiving it, I realized the 60L was a bit bigger than what I needed. I returned the 60L (easy return with UPS!) & bought the 35L instead.Of all the drybag backpacks, I had browsed, this one I think is the best! It's roomy enough to easy fit everything in but isn't too large where it would be awkward to carry. The 35L has a padded back & padded straps which make it more comfortable to carry. There's also a buckle strap that comes across your chest. I especially like the two zipper pockets. I use the inner zipper pocket to put my phone/wallet which keeps it dry & also makes my phone/wallet easy to access quickly. The outer zipper pocket is great for some small items that I might need a bit more frequently like chapstick, sunscreen, etc.Tip: Buy packing cubes. Dry bags are typically just 1 large compartment. To sort out my stuff a bit better, I bought some packing cubes to make my own for clothes, toiletries, towel, etc.Overall, great dry bag. It was $54.95 plus free shipping with Amazon prime. I live in Hawaii so typically shipping is more costly than on the mainland so any sellers that offer Amazon prime are great in my book! :)***EDIT: March 13, 2020. I loved this 35L bag so much that I bought a 2nd one in a smaller 25L size in "Mint" for hiking trips. The price increased a bit to $59.95 for the smaller bag, but I'm happy to pay it! Great quality, huge fan! And, the newer model has a few extra compartments INSIDE the bag. Would recommend!

What I wanted
I have not used this bag long enough to yet rate it 5 stars, as I don't know the long term durability, but it performed exactly as I wanted. I bought the bag for a trip to the Galagos Islands. I knew I would be in a cloud forest in Ecuador and on the islands during the rainy season. I also knew I would be in kayaks and other boats. I used it as my primary backpack as well. I did a jungle hike through a misty cloud forest in the Andes, lashed it to a kayak for some bird and iguana watching, and used it for hiking around the islands. I was also looking at the Sea-to-Summit version of a dry back that can be carried like a backpack but settled on this one for two reasons: 1) cost--this is significantly cheaper; and 2) the external and internal pockets. For the cost it does seem well made and durable. It survived planes, boats, kayaks, hikes in 95 degree plus days, being dragged through the sand, thrown on volcanic rock, being thrown into busses and taxis. It held up great. I really liked the external pocket--this is a feature not found in the other dry bag/backpacks I was looking at. I would put my passport, money and other items I wanted easy access to in there. That pocket is not water tight, but it is splash resistant--it withstood significant splashing. There is also an internal pocket that was nice to use for keeping phone charger cables, extra batteries and other items easily accessible. The bag is large enough so it can hold a lot of stuff, which is both good and bad. I never lacked for space but then I would also sometimes overload it. The only drawback, and this is true for all dry bags, is accessing items in the bag. It is one large pocket, and so one should put items one wants to access quickly such as field guides, rain jackets etc, near the top of the bag. Otherwise you end up taking a lot of stuff out to access items in the bottom of the bag. A TSA check proved this point (I accidentally left my Leatherman in the bag and it took a bit for the TSA agent to dig it out--lost a good knife as a result of my carelessness.) The only suggestion I would make would be to add a flexible mesh external pocket, maybe on the side, where one can put a water bottle. But it worked just as I hoped it would.

A Great Purchase
I've had this backpack since 2021 and it's held up super well. It's 100% waterproof still, pretty comfortable, and doesn't show that much wear. I use it all the time since I live in Seattle. I also get tons of compliments on this backpack for some reason. Huge fan :-)

Practical, reliable, sturdy
I've had this bag for two years now and it's great. It really is air tight. An added bonus to the air tightness is that it hides any scents inside. You could carry nonperishable food in there, like bread, to keep wildlife from being attracted to it. Only downside I've noticed to using this pack is that, because it's designed to be an air tight bag, there can only be so many inner compartments and ways to get into them. It makes accessing the stuff at the bottom sometimes bothersome. But this is a limitation of physics and not the bag, which has performed great.
