The lock is heavy and seems to be well built. The numbers on the combination dial are large and high contrast, making them easy to see even in dim light. The lock comes in a variety of colors. I got the orange one because of its high visibility.Programming is quick and easy--just open the lock, remove the small screw and cover on the bottom to access reset button, slide the button to the program position, then dial in a new combination. Slide the reset button back, then replace the cover and screw.Note that when you close the shackle, it does not automatically lock. Instead you must move the combination dials to make the lock secure. This is true of most locks of this type, which is different than the old style "dial" combination locks.

we bought this for a cabin padlock while at camp mather. thus far, my four and seven year old prefer this greatly to the masterlock traditional locks. the numbers are highly visible (white numbers on black background!). if your fingers are large enough you can also rotate not only from the front but with the help of the back (as the rolling numbers can be accessed from both front and back. my kids have an easier time manipulating this lock. so they give it the thumbs up of approval.how you custom change the combination is ok. at least it doesn't require a specialized key. just a small screwdriver. works perfectly.compared to the masterlock, which is traditional and rock solid, this one is less expensive, a bit more usable, and very kid friendly. we're keeping this one.

Great lock for gym locker not expensive and very sturdy and easy to set combination

I bought 3. I use them to secure a tool box, generator, gas can and propane tank to the bed of my truck while rv’ing. No lock or chain will keep a determined thief from stealing your stuff but it will hinder the temptation of average criminals. I need a reliable combination lock that can take the elements without the tumblers seizing up as I lock and unlock many times on an average trip. These locks are solid. An occasional shot of wd40 keeps them tumbling smooth. I highly recommend for light to medium duty.

This is a better lock system than most. Easy to use easy to program and perfect for the gym.

Perfect gym locker and the size is just what I needed, secure and easy to set the combo. Its not totally fail-safe however- a motivated individual could circumvent the lock given enough time but not in the circumstances I would be using it.

Works well. I love that I can easily program the combination. No more combination locks that have lost combinations. Love the color and design. Perfect for a gym locker.

Do you need this for the gym? Probably not it is totally overkill, but is it good, absolutely. I hate the turn ones and these do the job so well while keeping it convenient.
