HELLA 922000731 Sharptone 12V High Tone/Low Tone Twin Horn Kit with Yellow Protective Grill, 2 Horns

Not as loud as I would of hoped but I didnt check Db either. Deffinatly louder than stock. Will make your car sound like an old Volvo horn or a Mercedes as someone else has posted. Where ever someone said there is no + or - side is wrong. There is a + terminal. So if they dont work at first flip wires. No need for a power supply from battery. Will work right off stock wires if you cut the connectors and crimp on female blade terminal connectors. Fits great. And looks great. Installed on a 2006 subaru baja.

Purchased this as a replacement for our excavator. I only used 1 horn (the quieter of the 2) and it's still louder than the factory horn. The build quality seems good and hopefully, it will last longer than the OEM one did.

I put the Sharptones (the yellow ones) in my 2005 MINI Cooper. Perfect fit. The Supertones (the red ones) are a bit too large to fit in the MINI without some modifications, but the Sharptones fit as if they were made for the car. You will need to cut off the OEM connectors and splice in an extra few inches of wire so there's enough slack. I used heat-shrink splice connectors (2 per side) to connect the original wires with the new wires, and female connectors (2 per side) to attach everything to the horns for a nice clean install. I also loosened the horns on their brackets and turned them 180 degrees so the connectors were closer to the factory wiring harness (out of the box mine faced outboard as opposed to inboard). Nice, clean and easy install if you're moderately mechanical, and they're distinctive sounding in traffic and LOUD!

Effin LOUD compared to the single stock horn on a GC8!! The use fewer amps than the supertones and a stock 10amp relay should be fine. Buy the 20amp if you want

These are rated as 350Hz/415Hz, very similar to the frequencies of PIAA 85115 horns that I've run in the past (330Hz/400Hz), but they have such a wimpy sound, like a stock Honda horn. I ended up returning them and going back to the PIAA's.

Some folks say these are slightly louder than stock and they are wrong. These are substantially louder than stock and have some incredible range. From 80’ away these left my ears ringing after a simple toot of the horn. Already ordering more Hella’s for my other vehicles

Hella makes great replacement horns. This is the second set that I have bought over the last decade, and critically, the easiest to install because of the lower amperage requirements of the SharpTones over the larger / louder SuperTones.FOR YOU DIYers who are looking to install these without a relay, as long as your horn circuit is 10 AMP or higher, you should be OK. For whatever reason Hella doesn't think that the draw of these units is worth putting on their website, but per the side of the carton, each SharpTone horn draws 42 watts at 12 volts, which equals 3.5 Amps ( A = W / V). So the pair of these horns as installed draws 7A, under the threshold of many (not all) modern car horn circuits.
