SOUND,QUALITY,STYLE, The KANTO SUB8
I was looking for a sub that would complement my Mission LX2 Mark 2 bookshelf speakers. They are powered by a Denon PMA-600NE integrated amplifier. I use the matching Denon DCD-600NE CD player and the Fluance RT81+ with the Audio Technica AT-VM95E cartridge and stylus. This KANTO SUB8 does the job wonderfully!!! I spent 2 months researching and found many brands that looked good but when I read reviews and watched videos none of them seemed quite right. Some had port noise or box rattle, some had problems with the amp or longevity of life in general. Some brands were even cheaper but the build quality reflected as much. Some didn’t even have reviews or videos, which made me feel uncomfortable with choosing them. Then IT HAPPENED!!! I watched some very interesting videos about the KANTO SUB8 and why they choose sealed enclosures over ported and sound quality versus loud and boomy. I’ve always just used ported and didn’t realize that when listening to music, the ported sub I was replacing was influential to the music and not a true representation of what the artist intended. At least that’s what KANTO’s videos said and this intrigued my curiosity. How much better could a sealed sub be? Well let me tell you that although it’s not quite as loud as my ported sub that died, the QUALITY of bass is EXCEPTIONAL!!!!!!! Full five stars!! Leave the ported subs for home theater or your car. For a serious addition to a two channel system that may be lacking some low end, look no further. One note, have real expectations and know what your looking at, it’s not a “Rattle the house” sub. It’s a “ Quality over Quantity “ sub. I tip my hat to KANTO, great sub at a great price and has heightened my listening experience by bringing some smooth, tight, realistic low end to my system. Thank you KANTO, and thank you Amazon for having it at my front door the very next day after I ordered it.

A Most-have Subwoofer for the Kanto REN Powered Speakers
Adding the Kanto Powered Subwoofer to my REN speakers was the upgrade I didn’t know I needed. Setup was effortless plug it in, connect, and it was ready to go. Instantly, the entire system came alive. The REN speakers already sound fantastic on their own, but the subwoofer takes the listening experience to the next level. The bass is deep, rich, and powerful without ever being muddy. Explosions in games hit harder, movies feel cinematic, and music has that extra low-end punch that makes everything more immersive. What I really appreciate is how seamlessly it integrates with the REN speakers. It doesn’t overpower it complements, filling in the sound spectrum perfectly. Gaming, streaming, or just relaxing with music has never sounded this good.Bottom line: pairing the Kanto Powered Subwoofer with the REN speakers delivers an audio experience that’s balanced, powerful, and absolutely next-level.

A niche subwoofer for specific people.
If you are looking for room filing bass, sub for most music genres, or use in a medium or large room this is not the subwoofer for you. But if using in a small room, have limits for space, listen to music that doesn’t rely on heavy bass, or looking to add some presence when watching movies, this is a great subwoofer in my opinion. This Kanto sub, to me, was designed for people who have space limitations and most times live in close proximity to others. Due to the sub and cabinet design, the bass is punchy yet doesn’t carry far as the frequency it’s been designed to function. I also run this sub with a pair of Kanto bookshelf powered speakers, so compatibility was no problem. Lastly, you may need to adjust frequency and gain depending on the music, or movie, but again really happy with this sub.

Exactly what I needed
Very happy with it! Even at low volume, it sounds great.

Good for the compact size
If you need a subwoofer but space is REALLY at a premium, this will fit the bill. For our special need, this unit is fine. For the same price, a regular-design good quality subwoofer sounds cleaner and deeper; it's a trade-off between size and power. You just have to know what you need.

Look no further…truly impressive!
After a couple hours of break-in listening, the solid deep musical punch that this 8” woofer is quite amazing…for real. The sound quality is similar to my SVS SB1000 (with a 12” subwoofer) in the same stereo system and listening room. The resounding performance of the compact Sub8 exceeded my expectations. Plus, the matte white Sub8 looks much better than the SVS sub. This system has Q Acoustic 3030i white speakers, with same clean rounded-edge styling as the Sub8.Now that the break-in is complete, I will mate the Kanto Sub8 to a pair of Kanto TUK powered speakers for a secondary stereo system. The TUKs are also incredible, so this will be a great pairing.

Great addition to the YU-6
So there is definitely an improvement in sound. The YU-6 speakers are really good without the subwoofer, so I was curious to know if I could tell the difference. Yes, you get much richer sound with the subwoofer.I also love the controls on the back. You have a volume control and you have a frequency cutoff control. Amazing. I love it.And it's pretty loud, too.So that's the good. I have one gripe, though, and it's a pretty big one. It can take more than a minute for the thing to turn on. I think it goes into sleep mode, or something. Worse, whenever I turn down my volume, the subwoofer goes back to sleep. I'm always turning down the volume to talk to someone, and the subwoofer is always going to sleep. And yes, you can hear it when the sound cuts out. One moment the bass is there, and the next moment it's gone. When I turn the volume back up, it takes several seconds for it to wake up again. I can tell when the subwoofer is on or off by putting my hand on the speaker. I can feel it.To mitigate the problem I turned the bass way up on my YU-6s, and then I adjusted the frequency cutoff for my subwoofer. But I feel like for the $$$ I paid, I shouldn't have to do that. For comparison, I have an old pair of Bose speakers, and the subwoofer is literally always on.Not sure if there's a better workaround for the problem. If you hear of one, let me know.
