This kite winder changed the way I fly. It is a whole lot easier to let line out and to reel it in. Keep in mine that the supply line might not be sufficient for your kite so double check your kite instructions. I have large hands and 8.7 inch reel is ok for my hands. The 8 inch or smaller winder squeeze my fingers making it difficult to reel in the line. Also remember that the company that put the line on had a machine do it, which means your line will twist on you once you let out some line. I came across this with my daughters 8 inch reel. I unfortunately took all the line out so I can take out all the twisting in the line. Overall good winder for the money can't complain. Enjoy this product if you choose to buy it.

Works well, makes flying and holding onto a kite really easy. Huge upgrade from those hand wound spools.

I have a couple of these and after a few uses I'm torn. Compared to the junky kite string "handles" that come with most kites these are so much easier and enjoyable to use, the string quality seems good, and I can't imagine possibly needing more string - as it is the kite gets so high you can barely see it. BUT my huge issue with this reel is that it is insanely easy for the string to come off the reel when not being used and then into a horrific rats nest of tangled string - it has happened multiple times and I've probably spent literally hours untangling. Every reel in this style seems to be made the same way, even ones that are way more expensive, so don't know if there's a way to get around it but it definitely adds hugely frustrating moment to an otherwise fun product.

To whoever this may concern, Do not buy this product it is a tangled mess I used it one time and it tangled so bad I don’t think I can ever use it again.

Very good quality reel, the bearings are smooth and helps to crank the kite in fast, the hook clasp makes attaching it to the kite quick and easy, this one came with 1000ft of line and is more than enough to put a larger kite high up.
