Q: does the bottom ruin floors like one review stated?

I have ceramic tile and no damage from this seat.

Q: How tall is the lowest setting - it is NOT in the item description?

Lowest setting is 22". I'm been very happy with this chair

It comes out of the box fully assembled. I think the professional assembly is an automatic pop up for all chairs and desks.

Q: How comfortable is the seat cushion? Is it durable?

The seat cushion is VERY durable. I have two of these seats and one of them for > 5 years. It's indestructible. The cushions are very firm and so I wouldn't say they are especially comfortable, but I find that I tend to perch on the edge of them with my feet planted on the floor, so I am not putting my full weight on the seat. Actually sitting full on the cushion takes some practice as it is wobbly by design and has no footrest (which I think would be a useful option).
