Exactly what we wanted
Nice chess mat for travel. We just roll it up when done and put it away. It doesn’t roll up as we play, it stays flat and sturdy. Great for the price. Would recommend

Not straighten. Also few days after unfolding it it still has bumps

Not 2" Squares
This is a relatively nice nylon roll-up chess board, but the square size is 1-15/16", NOT the 2" advertised.

The traveling, thinking person sport.
Practically waterproof, very sturdy as long as the surface that you play on doesn't get above 98°. It's mostly waterproof as long as you don't have to submerge longer than to wash it.

Will not lay flat. Need two days outdoors for fumes to evaporate.
When the board first arrived, it looked exactly what I wanted. However, I had to leave it outside for half a day face up and half a day face down to get the plastic fumes to dissipate. I have spent another half day with books stacked on the mat face up, and another half day with the mat face down, trying to get the mat to lay flat. Next I will use clear tape to hold the edges flat on my desk. If that does not work after a few days, then I will discard this mat and just use my old cardboard checker board.
