First impressions extremely lightweight. This was after I took it off my ranting husband that I had been sent a dummy plastic controller. Needless to say I do all diy in the house and usually change the batteries in remotes!! This was on first look a bit tricky and I reluctantly had to agree with my husband, however, on closer look, there is a way!! ….Can’t say I’ve come across one that needs a sharp pin to open battery compartment. It does not slide off to put batteries in like most battery cases. You have to put something sharp and pointy into the little hole next to the thumb push on the little battery slider door. (I used a wine cork screw) This releases the door to enable it to be slid out. Perhaps it’s a new safety feature to stop little ‘uns getting hold of batteries, if so good idea, however, may have to put explanation in with product or may have some returned battered with knife marks as people struggle to open battery compartment !!! Anyway, Once this was accomplished, batteries (AAA/2) put in, my husband took it to the monitor we needed it for and it worked straight away!!! Husband now well impressed! So hopefully despite being quite light and cheap looking, it will stand the test of time and continue to work well. Good, price, very fast delivery.
