Pleased as punch
Holy poop these are great, especially for the price. I love that they're a random assortment. Dont be upset that they're not very sharp. They're not supposed to be. It's a machete not a straight razor. The only downside is that I finished all my yard work before I saw them. Found some stuff to hack at anyways and they cut great. I love the giant icing spreader looking one.

Nice potpouri of machetes
Some nice machetes of different sizes and shapes. They appear the be as advertised, Columbian military surplus. I kept 2 I liked the best and gave the rest to friends who camp here in Southern California. They were much appreciative. The metal is a mixed bag but all up to par. They do need sharpening, which I made a day of.

Great assortment of great machetes. Great price. Just GREAT!
This is a great collection of machetes for a great price. I use them for "hack and squirt" herbicide treatment for timber stand improvement projects. Easily sharpened with a flat file. I like the different designs for different size trees. A few rough edges on the handles but no big deal to file or sand smooth.

Wow - what a deal
A great deal - it's difficult to find any REAL surplus these days, everything is poor quality chinese knock-offs.I got a nice selection of styles, with two wood handles, and the rest plastic, but the plastic seems to be of good quality. They're not super sharp, I will touch up the blades, but machetes usually aren't super sharp, since you are hacking with them a thin edge wouldn't hold up anyway. I live in the desert, and I'm always trimming cactus and other prickly plants. These are perfect for that, snips just don't make it. I may buy another set to give as gifts.

A fixer-upper to be sure
Of the five machetes, four looked like possible Columbian military surplus, the fifth was made by Truper. The four surplus ones are actually fairly nice with good wooden handles. My only complaint is that these have zero edge, it's more of a bevel. It will take you days to sharpen these with a stone or some such. I'm going to have to pay someone to grind these down before I can actually use them. If you don't have access to a grinder, you might want to look at something else.Judging by how difficult they are to sharpen, it seems to be decent steel. And I think they will be just fine once they are sharpened. It's still a good buy. Just know you're gonna have to work for these

Good quality for the money
To start with, the machetes arrived several days before the estimated delivery date. Excellent shipping!I don't know much about machetes and never owned one, but decided to buy one for yard work. I did my research, read reviews about various machetes offered on Amazon and on other websites and decided to buy these 5 Columbian machetes, for the price of one machete by known brands. I was not disappointed! I received 5 different machetes made in Columbia. In my case, all have wooden handles. They did not come sharp, but they don't need to be, for the kind of work they do. I don't know what type of steel they are made of and after about half an hour of work cutting twigs and shrubs, there are a few dings in the one I was using. I don't see that as big problem as it does not affect the machete's functionality. Worse case, if it breaks, I have four other machetes to replace it. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Good quality for the money
I received the machetes as ordered and was excited to see the quality of them. They were very sharp for a machete with various sizes in the box. I immediately put three of them to work and easily cut through pencil thickness brush without dulling the blade. The variety allows for different cutting tasks without wearing out your arm. Super happy with my purchase.
