Works well with MacBook Pro including fussy peripherals
This seems quite well-made as well as light, and the plug fits snugly in the USB-C/TB3 socket which is important (some of the cheaper ones are loose, and things cut out if you knock the cable - not on this one, so far anyway). I've been using it with a DJ controller and USB input from a mixing desk, which can be quite fussy, and both are working fine, so am impressed so far (a couple of weeks of daily use).It will get moved around and plugged and unplugged a good deal during its life, so hopefully I'll come back and post an update as to how well is survives that. The only slight frustration is the short cable from the hub to the computer (laptop on high stand) - but that's one reason it's inexpensive; you have to pay quite a lot more for a decent one with a longer removable cable. It's OK, however, as I've just strapped it to the underside of the stand with velcro strips, since it's light, and long enough to do this without obscuring the sockets :)UPDATE: In heavy use and doing the business - impressed enough that I've ordered a second one, to have one in each work location and not need to always remember to bring it with me (!!) - the price has unaccountably gone up quite a lot, but it's still good value, and I'm impressed with everything Anker I've bought so far, so am starting to treat them as a 'trusted brand' :)

Smart, solid, well built unit.
Have tested/used on a variety of PCs and Macs, mostly using ethernet and USB but have tested HDMI (4K@30Hz) and this works exactly as advertised/expected also. The unit does get ever so slightly warm in use but certainly not enough to concern me, indeed it does state that it may reach 122°F (50°C) under load on a somewhat hard to read label on the unit itself, but for my use case I dont think it has been anywhere near this temperature.Very happy with purchase.

Heater as well ?
Very good product as most Anker things are. Not good if you need (for some reason) to have all the USB connections under the sun.Ethernet connection didn't work that well - most likely the network but Anker do reference that it can happen - there is their 18 mth warranty.Note that it doesn't charge things via it and it does get warm. Not worryingly "hot" .p.s. the USB C connector is snug so just take a little time to connect it carefully to a laptop etc. Better than a loose connection that keeps dropping out.

Superb Windows 10 Hub Adaptor
I am thrilled with this! (A little weird for a small piece of tech, I know!) The description made me wonder if this would work on a regular Windows 10 laptop - I have a company HP EliteBook and it worked straight out of the box. With all the (new!) working from home, I wanted to tidy up my desk with all the cables - and I have my hub connected to laptop, ethernet cable connected to router, HDMI connected to an HDMI switch (so I can either expand my laptop screen onto my other home computer, or not) and a wireless mouse transmitter. Then the whole lot tucks behind the desk! The design is clean and sleek. The aluminium case feels very well engineered, the braded cable is "bendy" but very strong and the C connected clicks in and stays in the laptop without any "wiggle". The whole lot comes with a very need carry pouch (if I ever need it) and a simple use guide.I did a whole pile of research before buying this and based on another Anker product, I settled for this - and am (so far) absolutely delighted with it.

Works perfectly
This is godly, has everything + HDMI where you can extend desktop not just duplicate! External monitor can go up to 1080 75hz which runs perfectly. I think it effect the auto start of a monitor, I have to press the on button of the monitor instead of pressing space bar for example. Ethernet port works perfectly, and so do the USBs. I am careful when taking it with me, the USB-c is sturdy, I connect and disconnect every day and hasn’t had any visible wear and tear yet. Overall great product.

Working on my iPad 2018/2019 Pro
Recently brought this item and I can say for certain I've got my monies worth from this. Was a little unsure if all the sockets would work fully with my iPad but have tested and can say truly you'll get everything this 5in1 hub offers working.Networking - Works a treat! I like this for times when Wifi isn't working and I need to diagnose the router.HDMI - Haven't got a 4K tv however 1080p worked perfectly.USB - I tried out USB sticks and will mention that you need to ensure you have the correct partition on your USB Flash drive. I believe the working ones to my knowledge are FAT32 and exFAT. There could be others, however certainly NTFS does not work. (Not that I'm disappointed by that or shocked). I had a last test and wouldn't of been bothered if it hadn't of worked but USB Mice work on the iPad Pro too, just make sure you switch on AssistiveTouch on in the Accessibility settings. From doing these tests as this is what I was after out of this product I'm happy to give 5 stars and truly would recommend to someone who has a iPad Pro looking to have those additional sockets.

Does exactly what it is supposed to do with a very compact footprint
Key point over any other dock/adapter I have tried is that in addition to other positives on usage and quality, it is detected at boot so I can boot up linux from an external SSD - which frees up limited on-board connections. I have yet to see this with any other dock/adapter.Using this on HP 15-df0002na. Had nothing but trouble with both HP and Lenovo docks - either intermittently having hardware ID not recognised (Lenovo C116) and when that does work, disappears after sleep. On HP Elite USB-C (TPA-B01) screen resolution cannot get to 4K, regularly not even detected in OS/Device Manager. This Anker (A83380A1) works straight out of the box. Never had an issue with it and is rock solid stable.Sure, it doesn't put out 4K@60Hz, but then it clearly says it doesn't. I takes up one port and doesn't require separate power. It would be nice if it did passthrough power, but at this price point (I paid £30) it's money well spent, so much so that I'm ordering another as a spare.
