Beautiful
At first, tbh I thought this was a tad expensive but the reviews were good so I went ahead and ordered it... glad I did! It's absolutely stunning, compliments the aesthetic of my baby's nursery and he loves staring at these beautiful birds floating eloquently above him.

Well made, and very lovely, but it must be hung in the right place (as in the instructions).
I like the overall effect of gently gliding birds. I was a little puzzled about what part of the bird should been seen best from below, because they don't all hang evenly. I think folding them in the middle helps a bit, but they could be strung better to create the best view. Mainly the instructions enable this to happen, but not 100%. (You definitely need to hang them very high, and not in a place where tall friends can walk into them.) I already have different artisan birds hanging from wood beams in my kitchen, so the mobile fits right into this theme theme. The only complaint: I'd like to see more than 2-3 of these Flensted mobiles resembling the original ones by Calder (without identical copies of course). Other than that, I like these "indoor" birds, and find them soothing.

Our son loves this mobile!
We bought this mobile for our first son's nursery. I was looking for something different since I didn't like the look of the plastic mobiles with stuffed animals. This is perfect! We've had this mobile since our baby was born and he loves it! I put it above the changing table since he was in a bassinet at first. Now that he is two months old he doesn't take his eyes off of the birds while I'm changing his diaper! His first smile was while he was watching them. If he's crying I'll take him upstairs and lay him on the changing table and as soon as the birds catch his eye he calms down. He loves it so much I just purchased the storks to hang above his crib. I agree that even though they are just paper, string, and metal, the real value is in how perfectly balanced they are and how beautifully they move. I also love that unlike a cheesy mobile that he'll outgrow, these can hang in his room for years. I would absolutely recommend this product!

Fun mobile but…
They are interesting and fun to look at overhead. The $40 cost is quite high for a mobile constructed of heavy craft paper, wire and string. I don’t recall those details in the product description.

Great alternative to the plastic wind up crib mobile!
I like to write reviews later as I have had the product for some time enough to see how well it holds up.We have owned this mobile since I was pregnant with my baby and he is now a year old. It has been over his crib since birth and he loves it.With the fan blowing in our room, it moves slowly and he always has his eye on it. I would not suggest you let them play with this since it is made of cardboard and will get damaged by little hands. However, it is a pleasure by all to watch. We wanted an alternative to plastic and found this.Since he is now in his own room, we placed this over his changing table and it works well there as well!We are pregnant again and I will be buying the fish for our next son. Get one,you and baby will love it :)

Cheap product not worth the money
So ridiculous. I already have an amazing 5 cardinal mobile that my grandson enjoys. I bought this one because those with 5 birds were even more exorbitant. The package looked like it was in some dirty garage and might have been run over. When he opened the mobile to hang for display it was so ridiculously made that I was utterly embarrassed giving it as a gift. Tiny wires with fishing twine are attached to flimsy tiny birds, all yours for the mere price of $40! What a racket.

Not large enough for an infant to see, good for grown ups though.
I bought this mobile to have something for my friend's three month old to look at. I was looking for something non traditional because well, it might be a little weird for me to have baby stuff all over my house when I don't actually have a baby.. Unfortunately this mobile is too small for her or she's too small for it, depending on how you look at it.. It is well made and moves around with ease. Removing it from the packaging made me a little uncomfortable as it is just made out if paper and tiny thread. Ultimately it ended up in my bedroom where I enjoy it and I ordered a color changing spinning led bulb($4 on Amazon # MGL801A) for my baby friend. Baby loves it and is totally mesmurized! Not as Zen as this but I guess babies aren't vey refined ;)

My favorite nursery item!
Our two month old's favorite thing in his nursery is this mobile above his crib. When it arrived in the mail it seemed pretty flimsy (it is made out of paper, thread and wire), but it is perfectly balanced and since it is so lightweight it moves beautifully with the slightest gust of air.Our son has loved watching it since he was born (well, since he could focus his eyes). I'm pretty sure he smiled at the mobile before he smiled at me or my husband! More than once it has stopped his crying almost instantly, and it will keep him occupied and smiling away when I need to put him down for a few minutes. It also casts some great shadows onto the ceiling at night when we turn on his nightlight.Bottom line: Definitely worth it, and probably our favorite non-necessity we bought for our son.
