Excellent small shredder at a very good price.
Excellent, very quiet shredder. We wanted a small shredder as we have limited space in which to keep it. The Rexel X6 fits the bill admirably with only the slight disadvantage that it has to be emptied a little more often. It really is very good value for money and shreds beautifully.

Decent home shredder
Quite compact which is good. Not speedy but does its job. I haven’t used more than 4 sheets at a time and it copes well. Bin fills quite quickly but it’s easily emptied. It’s exactly what I needed and expected.

Would recommend for heavy home use or light office use.
I wanted a decent shredder for home use as we have a lot to shred. This thing is perfect for that. It's bigger than a standard shredder but not as big as it looks in the photo so don't let that put you off if it's for home. Lightweight, easy to use.

Probably the worst shredder I've ever had.
The seller is faultless here - arrived really quickly and no problems. I'll explain. I looked for a shredder that could handle multiple sheets, and by somebody I had heard of. This Rexel shredder says it can manage 10 sheets - pretty good I thought. If you have a few sheets of A4 or smaller you want shredded, it's fine. I'd got a box of old documents - about the same size as the box the shredder came in. Some on A4 photocopier style paper, but quite a bit on thinner invoice type paper. First thing I noticed was that 6 sheets of A4 made it struggle - badly. OK, maybe 10 was optimistic, but half this quantity seems hard work. One major snag is it clogs really easily. If it detects the speed is dropping due to motor load, it stops and reverses - trying to clear a blockage (even if there isn't one) - this forces the slit paper back to the entry slot where it jams solid. The reverse action stops, and you cannot insert another sheet of paper because the slot is jammed solid with offcuts. the only solution - and none of this is in the manual - is to poke out the jammed paper from the top. As a result, two hours after delivery the slot is scratched and worn, making it look years old. Once the slot is clear you can shred some more. Then the red overheating light comes on, so that's 30 minutes before you can use it again.I found one or two sheets at a time is the only way to use it. Oh - and don't forget to keep checking the bin, because if you don't, the rising shredded paper then jams the shredding blades. If you lift the head off, you need to reposer up before you can continue for safety reasons. If I only needed to shred a few bits of paper, it copes, but if you have a bin full to shred, this is a terrible shredder. Nowhere near the 10 sheets claimed and very low power motors. It constantly reverses and tries to clear itself. Two hours was enough to make me realise it's just a very poor designed product and I'd recommend avoiding it. Sixty pounds is way over the top for such a poor product. Not remotely useful for even a small office. Sorry Rexel - but this is a terrible, over hyped product. 10 sheets? Really!

Not a great shredder
I bought this shredder to replace an old rexel hs.95 that served me well for about 10 years. I was attracted by the fact that the new one could do 8 sheets at the same time. As you can see from the picture, the new machine is slightly shorter that the old one and looks a lot nicer. It’s also quieter than the old one and shreds faster than the old one. That’s where the good points end though. It says 8 sheets in the instructions but the reality is that when you put 6 sheets in it struggles. I think it would shred 6 sheets faster if you fed them in in two batches of 3. The next problem is that the way it tells you that the bin is full is when the top is lifted off by the shredded paper underneath. This would be ok except that by the time this happens there is a large amount of shredding getting stuck in the blades. When you lift the top off you have to pull this paper out and inevitably some goes on the floor so it makes a mess. Also, if you let it get too full the blades jam up with paper and when that happens it stops cross-cutting. The. You have to unplug it and pick out the bits of paper from the blades (not fun). There’s a window on the side of the bin so you can see when it’s getting full but sadly the window is smoked and it’s a dark grey bin and with the lid on you can’t see through it. I would not buy this model again.

Good shredder but a design flaw
Good value as a shredder but a word of warning: the body has to go a specific way round on the bin to work. Having used it heavily for a big shredding session (during which it cut out a couple of times to avoid overheating - understandable), I emptied the bin and replaced the body. Unfortunately I did it the wrong way round without realising - although it doesn't sit perfectly, it does so nearly enough not to be noticeable if doing so from above. Result: no lights and no operation. Leaving it for a while had the same result. I tried testing the fuse; same result. Eventually I realised what I had done, and all is fine. I suggest it is a design flaw that there is no warning light that although the shredder is switched on, it cannot operate because it hasn't been place properly on the bin. The manual also needs to be clearer that the window side of the bin must be facing forward.
