Enterprise HP ProLiant DL360 G7 Server 2x 2.66Ghz X5650 6C 72GB (Renewed)

I was surprised by the performance by this server costing less than $200. I am using it for a "home lab" while I'm in college and it's able to run many VM's on it without any issues. I'm using it to run ESXi with windows server, ubuntu, redhat, and many other ones. I can easily spin up testing and practice machines and networks all on this one machine. Very fun, getting another one because they are such a good value.

This is a nice little server, great for home use, virtualization, media server, etc.1. Use whenever you are ok with older equipment no longer supported by HPE.2. Beware of HDD requirements. Not every 2.5" HDD is compatible. Even if controller sees them you may not be able to boot, or thermal control of server goes nuts because of SMART incompatibility. I ended up buying extra PCIe controller to support large HDDs.3. If you have any experience with setting up severs, this is no different from any others. Requires a bit more BIOS and controller settings than a regular PC.4. I purchased three and every one was slightly different in terms of bays in front. Two actually included more than what was pictured.

Arrived earlier than expected and is in very good condition. All the components listed where installed and the server functions perfectly. I was able to install windows server 2019 through the iLO3 port and using virtual media since it did not want to boot from the USB drive. However older operating systems that are supported by this model installed through USB just fine. I really enjoy this server and expected it to be much louder than it is at idle speeds.

as soon as i fired it up, it worked completly like expected, no issues, drives work, full cpu boost, etc etc.very quiet when not being used much because i am actually using it as a home computer so big bonus for me, windows 10 will not work unless u use a vm in a server os, just warning people for that part, not all server support normal home system software, has high pressure fans, no dust, raid 0, has a lot of ethernet connectors, its all good, its much faster than my 4 core 8 thread amd cpu, having 24 threads at my fingertips is crazy goodAn update to this comment, windows works, you need windows 10 professional to use both cpus

Purchased this to replace another older HP DL360 G7. This one had more drive slots and more memory than mine. The server came in a nicely packaged sealed box and packaging. The server started right up as soon as installed my previously used RAID pair sas drives. All booted up and working fine. I think this is a great value for a small home server like PLEX, small NAS or NVR or even Vmware. I am using this as a NVR with hyper-V for other VM's so am pretty satisified with this

Well packed, good condition physically. I got a 📀 dvd drive, 2 power supplies and cord. The rest of the specs are as listed. No storage HDD, Smart array controller detected my SSD no issue. Very quiet idling fans can pass as desktop the noise level.

Not turning on. It doesn't boot, doesn't even show hp logo and makes a click sound every second. Also the phone of support for any issues didn't answer the call. It's always unavailable

This is a really good value for the price. 72GB of RAM and 2x 2.66Ghz X5650 CPUs. (12 cores total 24 threads) Right now I'm running windows 10 on it until I decide what server OS i want to install on it. So far runes great with Windows 10. Work right out of the box, was package correctly so there was no damage when shipping.
