Would the fisher price farm animals fit?

I looked at the fisher price farm animals - too bad they don't mention their size - the barn is probably larger, but they would definitely fit & would be cute.

What is the recommmended age for this toy?

I gave this to my granddaughter when she was 2/3 years old and she is now 6 and plays with it daily. She tells me that is her favorite toy....Hope that helps

Yes, it is. I bought it for my daughter on her 2nd birthday, she has played with it ever since. She is 4 now and still loves it.

Is this appropriate for a 1 year old? Are the animals made of wood as well?

I think it is more appropriate for a 2 year than 1 year. The animals are made from very sturdy material, probably not wood, and are covered in material that looks like hair. My great granddaughter was 2 when I got them for her. She loves them still and is nearly 4.
