Touching, inspiring tale that hits close to home. I loved the audiobook as well. The reader has a very pleasing, entertaining voice. Perfect to listen to while cooking! Cheers to Veera Hiranandani for such a wonderful reading and listening experience!

As the author did for The Night Diary, she sheds light on a history that more people need to know about. I loved learning about the Partition of India in such a humanistic way and how this family manages to put their lives back together after leaving their home. Amil is such a memorable character. He's so unique and funny, but also very insightful and wise for his age even though school is hard for him. His drawings are included too. Such a hopeful, heartwarming, and important piece of historical fiction for young readers or really any age!

Loved this book! What a wonderful follow up to the Night Diary!! This is such a great story for younger readers as well as adults!!
