Having tried many different products for my osteoarthritis at the base of my thumb, this is definitely top of the list. It's sturdy and keeps the joint straight and still. It's comfortable to wear and my pain and nausea with this condition has improved so much after only 2 days of wearing it. Well worth paying a little extra for some comfort. I also wear it in bed. Fantastic!!

As a pianist and organist my worsening thumb arthritis was causing me many problems. I have tried cheaper Neoprene thumb supports which didnt really help and actually caused pain when putting them on.These splints have been a revelation and I have found that wearing them at night has really lessened my thumb issues. They are easy to apply, comfortable and breathable. After a week my basal joints are less swollen and painful and dexterity when playing piano has largely returned. Very pleased - and currently not needing iboprofen gel or tablets.

Although they are comfortable to wear and value for money they do not help with thumb pain once removed, so they do not get rid of thumb pain once removed.

For anyone with arthritis in the thumb joint this is an absolute must. It does immobilize the thumb almost completely, unlike some on sale, but the pain relief when wearing it is well worth the inconvenience. Certainly whenever I have to do jobs without it I'm more than happy to put it on again. Worth paying that little bit more for this brand as the steel splint is permanently encased in the fabric (unlike my first device where the metal rod kept falling out of its pocket) and the velcro strap goes round your wrist and attaches itself to the actual fabric so no exposed scratchy velcro material to catch on all your clothes or bedding. Excellent!

My physio advised me to purchase a thumb splint as I'm waiting for an x-ray for a suspected carpal bone fracture in my wrist. After reading many reviews I decided to purchase this one and so happy I did.I measured my wrist and it was 19cm, so I went for the Large/ XL size. Fitted me lovely and having no problems wearing it all day and night.

This thumb splint is a really excellent product. It holds the base of the thumb completely immobile and is very comfortable to wear. Very easy to adjust and fit. There is a very slight chafing at the base of the splint (on the wrist) but that's probably caused by wrist movement and isn't really a problem. In the absence of any comparison with similar items, I would thoroughly recommend this splint.Update: Had to reduce the star rating to a 3 as, after less than a month, the splint is beginning to fail. Only wearing it for a couple of hours a day, no heavy hand work, the fabric is coming apart and the internal plastic support is poking through. Good product, poor resistance to wear.

It's a good product but for people with small thumbs or hands it needs to be more adjustable
