This is a nice string of LEDs with plenty of flashing patterns to choose from. The controls are nice and simple with an on/off switch and a pattern selection rocker, all built into the 12v accessory plug. During my testing, the strip pulled around 17w max with certain patterns. Most of the patterns averaged under 10W or less.The flashing pattern control is small PCB soldered directly to the the switch contacts. This makes it tricky, but not impossible to wire into your own switch solution. I soldered wires directly to the PCB, then covered it with some heat shrink and stuffed it behind the dash.Kit includes a decent length of wire for most applications. The strip seems well sealed with absurd amounts of silicone injected into each end before capping. The inline screw cable connectors do have an o-ring, but it's tiny. I'd suggest adding some silicone grease to make sure the water stays out if they are going to be exposed to the elements.The double sided foam tape preinstalled is sticky enough, but it doesn't look like it's outdoor rated. IMO, I'd replace it with proper outdoor rated 3M foam tape. The included tape is also quite thin, so won't work well if your rocker panels have any sort of chip-guard protection (bumpy surface). I also have the double strip version of this kit and it's held up for more than several weeks now in the FL weather, with no signs of giving up any time soon. The included clips are nice, but I'm not drilling holes into my rockers to secure them.

When I saw these for sale, I was skeptical. I have seen those red LED strips on the back of pickups that act as auxiliary brake and turn lights and I was always underwhelmed. You could tell they were there but only just. That’s kind of what I expected when I saw these. I was wrong, very wrong. These are easily as bright as a light bar. I tested these at night and 4 hours later, my eyes still had the flashing imprints when I closed them. That is serious bright. The power socket switch is actually two switches. One is a simple on/off and the other one will cycle through a bunch of different flashing patterns. One nice feature is that when you arrive at a pattern you really like, it is saved in memory and the next time you turn it on, the last pattern selected will start up.Do you know the number one killer of police officers? That took a dark turn, didn’t it?The number one killer is not bullets, it is car drivers. For some bizarre reason, when a police officer stops you to help or to ticket, despite their million watt red/blue flashers, some car drivers will hit the officer at 80mph. That’s why many officers will approach the passenger side of the vehicle.Have you ever stopped to help a Damsel in Distress?These flashing lights might just save your life!I highly recommend them!

I haven’t installed this kit yet, but wanted to include pictures of what’s included for others. I wondered if this strobe kit had a connector separating the light strip from the lighter plug and couldn’t find that info anywhere. It does! So if you have a smaller pass through for wires, you don’t have to worry about the lighter plug since it can be disconnected. Installation should be easy with the 3M tape. Transparent straps and screws are included for those who want a more secure installation. This kit even includes zip ties for running the wire. Very happy with this order and looking forward to installing. Will update if any issues.

Easy installation, bright even in daylight

These are really nice and BRIGHT with a very visible strobe pattern and will work well if you are trying to get more visibility for your work truck at night (you know how people are these days trying to hit those of us who work on the road).However, the included adhesive is not the greatest - you'll want to find a way to more permanently affix it so that the ends don't start to peel and then just come right off.Plus, the cigarette lighter is a strange choice for connection but it works, however the cord is short enough that if you wanted to use these on a trailer (and plug them in to your cigarette lighter) you won't be able to. Most likely you'll just wire these up yourself and toss the cig plug but otherwise they work well for the price.
