Greenworks Tools Cordless Lawn Trimmer G40LT (Li-Ion 40 V 30 cm Cutting Width 7000 RPM Rotating and Tilting Motor Head Adjustable Additional Handle Telescopic Shaft Without Battery and Charger)

Had this 4 years now, initially as a strimmer and it performed fine but I now have a gardening business and use it as an edger using 2.7mm oregon bio strimmer line (other lines I have tried are not flexible enough). I hammer it and it does an amazing job and just keep going - the strimmer line lasts about 20 minutes between refills generally cutting down into the roots and soil, a bit longer if I am more gentle. I do find this an invaluable bit of my 'toolbox' that keeps doing much more than it should for a non professional item. Several customers have expressed their wonder at this item... not realising it's true identity as a relatively cheap battery strimmer... not suprising given the state it is now in.

This has a good solid feel although it is quite heavy. I have only managed to use it once so cannot really comment much further. it looks good and the battery charges fairly quickly and certainly lasts long enough to trim my small garden.

bought as I already have the lawn mower therefore battery is common to both. I found it easy to assemble but it is quite heavy/ unbalanced for long use. early days to comment on durability but seems well made.

I bought a Greenworks lawnmower last year using the 40v Li-ion battery system, so bought this trimmer to use the same battery and charger. Unfortunately, Greenworks 40v batteries are not compatible across the range. Same shape, same size, same output but different sockets on the trimmer and mower. I assume the chargers are specific to the battery types too. At £120 for a dedicated battery and charger that makes this prohibitively expensive for a mid-range trimmer. Its not very green either, is it?

Does what is says. This is the second tool we have, had the hedgetrimmer first. ideal with the 40v battery - we decided to not buy a second charger or battery, just use the first one between the two tools. I have only run out of power once with the hedgetrimmer in a year - and we have 2/3 acre garden but I only want to do max 30 mins work anyway as otherwise I would be worn out!

had this two years now and it does a lot of work . Will need to source a spool cover though as I see its wearing .So all good , no cables , it is power hungry if you use it constantly and I might buy another battery now as I have pole saw , telescopic hedge trimmer and chain saw all been running on one 40v battery. Absolutely no complaints.UPDATE. 2021 I decided to buy another ....the model shown is not what you get, it neither tilts nor swivels and it is much more difficult to use, the safety trigger is stiff, sometimes needing two hands , it is longer and not adjustable, they should not be allowed to keep using the pictures from the original good qaulity strimmer to sell this poor immitation.

I love these Greenworks items, they are very convenient and can be used at a moments notice. No no petrol, no oil just grab a battery and go.They are lighter weight items but perform well even the mower which surprised me the most.

A good strimmer. Have other tools by this maker, so the batteries are interchangeable. A little on the heavy side.
