When I first got this I was so disappointed as the sand was all clumped and stuck together in one half of the circle but realised it was easily fixable by shaking and turning it a couple of times until all the sand was free.Now, there is a knack to this and I have found what works for me is flipping it like you flip a record to play the other side. Rotating it did NOT work for me as all the bubbles moved to the side and to the top, meaning all the sand just fell to the bottom. Flipping it and giving it a bit of movement to evenly distribute the bubbles works like a treat. This does not work every time as sand + bubbles = unpredictable but more often than not I get it right and its so calming and pretty to watch.The impliment used to let more air in/out is not included but I dont recall seeing anywhere in the description that it was included but I think it should be.I think the 12 inch version is the perfect size for this kind of thing.

Lovely item bought as part of a birthday gift for a teenager. It is quite a delicate object but fascinating to watch the sand flow in the glass container. It is reasonably priced.

Bought this as a gift for someone who is very difficult to buy for. Its very pretty, relaxing and a great addition to a desk. It's good value for money and comes in a variety of colours. The item itself is goid quality and not flimsy, luckily it was well protected in its box because the box itself came a bit battered. All in all, very pleased

Looks nice, but dosent always work due to the bubbles blocking the sand completely. Needs a hard shake to get to work.

I've had this product for about a year, and I noticed within a few months of owning it, liquid was very very slowly over months leaking out the frame and causing bubbles to emerge. Its now only half full of water and so, the sand can't move properly.The sand also mixes together and becomes on muted shade if you turn it too much.Not worth the money at all, it'll last a month or two then start to leak, and at that point, it becomes ugly to look at and useless.

This is my new favorite thing. I don't know why but it pleases my soul.
