Pokémon Trading Card Game Battle Academy (Cinderace V, Pikachu V & Eevee V)

Bought as xmas present for my 8 year old daughter who has never been into Pokémon but does enjoy board games. She didn’t like it, she loved it, apparently - so success!! Very easy to learn as it starts simple and there’s even a tutorial video online which we watched rather than having to read the rules. She then went off and taught her mum how to play after we’d had a couple of games. There is more complexity, which we haven’t got to yet, around weaknesses and strengths which I assume is like fire beats grass, water beats fire etc. like in the video games. Of the three decks included, we’ve only used two (for simplified start up) so still have the third deck to look through when attempting the complete rule set.Overall a good set that’s good value for money, certainly the right price for testing someone who you might not be sure will enjoy it! And for those parents who want a way into nostalgia-ville this is a good gateway.I choose you!!

I got this for my 8 year old daughter who only had a few random Pokémon cards but wanted to actually play and as a starter/introduction to the game - you really couldn’t get any better.There are 3 ready-made decks in here, that’s 180 cards. A play board, damage tokens and full instructions. 2 of the decks are even specially ordered so players can follow the instructions for their first game and learn the rules.The number of cards and the fact that they are three pre-made decks means this really is exceptional value for money and if anyone is looking to start playing Pokémon you would be crazy not to start here.

Bought for my niece who loves collecting the cards and wanted to learn to play. The box comes with a firm deck mat and 3 decks, which themselves would cost more than I paid.The instructions talk players through their first games perfectly, with instructions on the deck mat, and in the guides. Would recommend this product for younger learners, as the decks are quite simple with no advance plays in the decks. But a strong product nonetheless!

The instruction manual is easy to follow even for 6 years old.I think it is easier to follow the step by step guide than following instructions on YouTube.The cards and playing board has good quality.I would recommend for anyone want to start to play pokeman card game.

I have been playing with my 7 years old daughter for quite some time now. It was easy to learn and the game has everything you need to initiate you in the game. I also watched some videos in YouTube to learn more about the rules.

This contains all the parts you need to start learning the mechanics and play moves for Pokemon TCG.The best bit is that the decks are super simple so that you can focus on the gameplay and strategy basics without having to dive straight into the far more mature mechanics unless you really want to. The play board is a brilliant too.I dropped a star on the review because the advanced Eevee deck have a cutting error from a manufacturing error, but its only on a few of the energy cards.

Our 6 year old started wanting to collect cards and this is great for widening their (and our) awareness of pokemon as a game not just collection - really easy to learn how to play the beginner game and you can let them put in a few of their own cards (if normal/electric/fire/poison - as these are the energies included) and take out a couple so there's still 60 cards in their deck. We have played it at least once every day since Christmas 😆 perfect present!
