This is really fun product to set up on the side of her room whenever dancing and romping around. It picks up sound very well and dances quite like it says. I am a little disappointed that it's not a speaker in of itself. I think if they added a speaker to it, it would really bring the whole thing together.

This is the most mesmerizing desk accessory I’ve ever owned. The ferrofluid moves smoothly with the magnet and looks futuristic. Great gift idea or conversation starter! Wish it was an actual speaker though.

A band had one of these setup on a guitar amp dancing around during a gig. and I loved it. Needed to buy one. It's kinda silly with no real reason anyone should own it, other than it's SO COOL! I love having it on.

Update: the company responded promptly when I had issues with this product. And they issued me a refund when I requested one.Original Review (2 stars): We’ve had this for around 7 months, but about a month ago it developed ”spots” in the center where the material sticks, and I can’t figure out how to make it clean/clear again. This is such a bummer because up until now we’ve really enjoyed it and loved showing it off to guests. But now it just looks dirty and makes me kinda sad without a crisp clear background- definitely loses the interesting effect from before :(

Now you may look at this and say its a useless purchase, why would you spend your money on this, etc... But having this for the last 2 months has made watching tv, movies, and playing video games sooo much more fun and exciting. The way this reacts to the sounds and music portrayed has me staring at this device sometimes more than the tv screen.IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A SIGN IN THIS REVIEW SECTION to purchase this, BUY IT NOW!! :)

The media could not be loaded. Worked well for a week or so, but now there is a brown air bubble that has separated and it completely ruins the aesthetic. I only used the device a handful of times before this happened.Seems to be an issue for others, so I would buy with caution. For $129, I expect better.Amazon is saying I cannot return it, so I am hoping this review finds its way to the company. Would happily update the review if they can help.

Keep in mind, this is NOT a speaker. The listing DOES say it's not a speaker somewhere too. But anyway, I've tried tons of audio visualizers over the years, and it just seems like nothing really goes with the music. At least, no so that you can really tell it does. Some kind of go with the music, but nothing compares to how well this ferrofluid goes with it. You can use the magnet it comes with to play with it while it's turned off, but the real magic happens when it's turned on and close enough to an audio source. Which brings to mind the only real downside, in my opinion. To detect the audio that makes the ferrofluid move, there's a mic on the back. And while it still detects audio pretty well, at this price point it would be nice if it had the ability to increase and decrease the mic's sensitivity. Other than that, it comes with a cord with a regular USB-A connection on one side and a USB-C connection on the other side. No little power brick that plugs into the wall, but that's pretty standard these days. Also, the cord isn't something that's just to provide power that needs to be plugged in all of the time. No, it's actually for recharging this device, which means it CAN be operated wirelessly.And one more thing. If you order this and it comes with a big ugly air bubble in it, just put in for a replacement and it should be replaced with no problem. Sure, it's aggravating to have to do that, but I promise it's worth it. I just wish Amazon would quit putting their stickers on the actual product boxes of everything they ship, that has the kind of adhesive on it that can only be described as, "Evil."

Look, this thing IS cool when you get one that isn’t damaged. The first one I did replace because it came with an internal stain in the glass that wasn’t too hard to spot with the eye and came up clear as day on camera. I’m trying to use this personally as background visual overlay for short clips showcasing new music. I did still test the first unit and it was fantastic, just that blemish. The second unit comes and the box gets taken inside within an hour. I’ve seen others talk about, as well as the product description, keeping it out of heat. Well it was taken inside and left in the hallway for a day before I opened it. Some of the terrafluid had melted onto the glass. Can’t be moved with the magnet, it’s done. Unfortunately I don’t get a second replacement option so I will try to buy the item one last time and may update my review if I’m able to avoid similar circumstances.EDIT: The customer service from the seller has been fantastic. For that alone, I am changing my review to 5 stars. I’ve attached two pictures; one depicting the melted fluid and the second showing a replacement unit I was provided free of charge with a small interior bubble defect. The seller clarified that these are hand blown glass fabrications so defects happen. It DOES NOT IMPAIR THE DEVICE IN ANY WAY. It is purely cosmetic and because this will be on camera I just don’t want it to have the mark. It works beautifully and I’ve already gotten so many compliments from family and coworkers. They were kind enough to give me a discount due to the issue as well. Stellar service.
