Kyoko still loves Ren
Love this entire series.Only writing a review in response to an earlier one which is a bit misleading regarding one point: Kyoko's love for Ren has NOT actually turned to hate. I can only assume that the reviewer doesn't remember Kyoko's relationship with Hiromune Koga very well, and also didn't read this volume properly: ignoring Kyoko's reaction to Sarah regarding Ren, for example. That review put me off the later volumes, to be honest. Glad I bought them anyway.

Spectacular as always
I just love Skip Beat. Plain and simple. There's some good stage/political drama in this book. I can't wait too see how the project turns out!

Just Feels Like It Is Meandering Now
Nakamura's Tokyo Crazy Paradise will likely always remain one of my favorite manga. But this latest series of hers is really starting to drag. We were finally starting to get some resolution in recent volumes but now we're fully bumped back to square one and once again returning to the movies side of the story. It's not nearly as captivating as the relationships and I'm finding it harder and harder to stay invested in the story as a result.Story: Ren gives Kyoko a ticket to "Disneyland" to go with Kanae. Along the way, she recognizes one of her past directors and says hi - only to discover that he has an American friend who he hopes Kyoko will show around Disneyland. Kyoko obliges, of course, but it turns out that Sarah may just have a very personal connection to Ren.This volume is mostly about character building Sarah, all with slow hints about her being intimately involved in Ren's life. The scenes at Disneyland were cute but mostly about Sarah being able to eat a lot - which isn't that interesting after the fourth instance. We get a bit more reveals by the end but honestly, I felt like I could have skipped the entire middle and not missed anything at all.The last chapters were about the movie that Kyoko is doing and how Kyoko doesn't love Ren any more but has turned her love into hate for some reason. This volume was particularly hard to follow and I was scratching my head in puzzlement all the time. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.
