This product actually DOES contain lead. This is why it has a "Prop 65" warning (this is a CA based consumer safety designation). However, the lead in this product does not come into contact with the food you are processing, so as long as the grinder shows no signs of damage, it is perfectly safe to use.

If you are going to buy the top of the line stand mixer, why wouldn't you spend the extra money and get metal attachments. The metal attachments generally don't wear out or break like plastic. There are two metal attachments available, aluminum or stainless steel with the stainless obviously the most expensive.

I regret buying this attachment

I bought this attachment in the hopes of grinding all my meat at home. But the blade inside is made of plastic and it grinds nothing. It just gets stuck inside and jams the machine. Am I doing something wrong?
