Should the gel look like plain water?

In the sense that they are both transparent colorless liquids at room termperature, yes. But the gel is more viscous, has different freezing characteristics, and tastes nothing like water, should you break one and get it in your whiskey. Thankfully it is also nontoxic, and the flavor is not unpalatable.

Do the cups get frosty in the freezer?

Yes, the cups completely freeze. If you mean do they collect frost, then no, they do not. But, after time, they'll take on a brownish color. I don't know what this is and it does not affect your drinks flavor, but they do develop a brownish color. That being said, we love and use these glasses a lot. We also have the martini glasses and use them a lot too.

How come the wine glasses come in pretty colors and the whiskey glasses come in gray and smoke. I am a female who loves whiskey and pretty colors!

Obviously some traditions tend to sell better.🤔
