The Best soil ever. I would never use anything for my plants, it is so packed full of great nutrients that make my plants flourish.Worth ever penny!A bonus is that it's lightweight and has a handle for easy carrying. I have never seen anything except the beautiful soil. No pests, no sticks, etc like other brands. It holds water retention, makes my plants happier than anything I've ever used.

Honestly this is just a good, name brand product. You get exactly what is described and expected. A top tier brand for your soil whether inside or outside. Perfect for starting off seedlings, with a good balance of nutrients to help kickstart their life. It sucks up water like a champ, unlike some other soil sellers where the soil has to be drowned, this soil is just perfect. Functional for all your leafy greens. Remember to mix in your top dressing after 2 weeks.

I am so impressed with this soil! I have been indoor gardening for over five years now. This is the first soil I have tried that didn't have gnats, and every plant that I did a soil change on with this soil, thrived! Even my gorgeous five year old calathea was happy. None of my soil changes sulked for a bit like they always seem. They all immediately perked up! Five stars!!!

I'm using this for the first time. All seems great and my plant is growing well. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

Perfect for growing medicinal plants. There are the perfect base amount of macro/micronutrients present to where you can have your own fertilizer regime. It has the optimal pH, fantastic water retention, and good drainage. It is a bit on the pricey side compared to synthetic based nutrient substrates, but it is absolutely worth the price. The substrate arrived well moistened; not saturated or bone dry.The only thing that concerns me about the product is that it is the ingredients are organic, which can lead to some ethics questions. The ingredients in question are "aged forest product", sphagnum peat moss, and bat guano.

Fox Farm Ocean Forest potting soil: It smells like good potting type soil. No off odor noted. Feels good in my hands. I would describe it as light loamy compost with perilite. It is what I was hoping for and expecting. The consistency was the same throughout the bags. Both bags that I received appeared and felt the same. I did not measure the amount, both bags felt equal and appeared to fill the bag the same. I am trusting that when the bag states 12 quarts, it is 12 quarts. I wish I bought more. I used both bags and a bag of a different type Fox Farm (Happy Frog) potting soil from a different seller (very pleased with it as well). I will have to look at the bags to determine the actual difference between the 2 types because I couldn't see or feel any significant difference between the 2 types.Dry: three 12 qt bags barely filled my 20 inch diameter, about 2.5 feet high round planter. Oh, forgot to mention that I did place some cardboard from boxes at the bottom of the planter. Should probably plan on at least four 12 quart bags once it settles and compacts down a bit after watering.Shipping packaging was excellent from this seller as well. Each bag was packed in their own box with both in a bigger box. This soil is expensive, but I think it will be worth it. I had some creeping crawling bugs on the very outside of the shipping box, but did not see any on the bags or in the soil. So I don't know where the outside of box bugs came from.Overall, extremely pleased with my order. I highly recommend buying more of the same from this seller!
