Martelli 18" x 24" Small Self-Healing Color-Contrasting Cutting Mat for Sewing, Quilting & Crafting

Worth every dollar. I like the fact that this cutting mat is double sided with purple on one side and yellow on the opposite surface. It is especially efficient when combined with the left and right handed Martelli rotary cutters. I have cut thousands of parts for face masks and the mat still looks like it just came out of its packaging. The grids are easy to see and very accurate. No guess work here, just speed, consistency and the joy of working with a high quality tool.

This cutting mat is fabulous! My old, supposedly self-healing, mat was dulling my rotary blades because there were so many grooves in it from numerous cuts made on it. This mat is - so far - really wonderful. I cut and I can't tell by feeling the mat where I made the cut. There seems to be no evidence. And the rotary cutter just glides over it. Color me happy!

I don't write reviews often, but I felt it was a must for my new Martelli Rotary Cutting Mat, and Rotary cutting Tool. I hate wasting money! Last July 2023, I purchased a brand new cutting mat from a well known manufacture that sells lots of cutting mats and cutting tools. I paid quite a bit for the mat, but when I got home and used it one time, I noticed that it was not self healing as advertised. I knew immediately that the mat was not going to last very long. Even though I had moved my fabric around on the mat so I was careful not to cut on the same lines each time, it was leaving large gaps where the blade had been. I knew it was not my blade because I was using one of their brand new blades. I thought I was possibly doing something wrong, so I asked some of my quilting friends for suggestions. Many of them wrote back telling me to invest into a Martelli Cutting Mat, and thankfully, I listened to them! When this mat arrived, and I took it out of the box, I knew immediately that this was far better than any of the other cutting mats that I had purchased in the past. It felt different and you could see the quality that went into making the Mat. Its double sided which is a plus for me, and the markings on each side a perfect for quilting. I quickly put that mat to the test and it did not disappoint!!! I was blown away! Every single time I made a cut, I could see it healing right before my eyes! The cut completely disappeared on me with in seconds. When I ran my fingers over the area it was completely smooth! In fact, you could not see where I had made my cut. This is something that I had never experienced with any of my other cutting mats before. I am completely in love with the Martelli cutting Mats, and now I want to purchase the next size up! I wasn't sure if I would get used to the Rotary Cutter, but it works like a dream also. I don't have to twist my hand to use it which is a plus. I have small hands, and I find that it works great for me. I cant say anything other than wonderful things about the Martelli cutting Mats and their products! My thoughts are, I don't mind spending more money on something if I know its going to last! Quality is what really matters and sadly too many companies have forgotten all about quality these days! From now on, I will never buy anything other than Martelli!

After watching a video by Martelli about their trio, and why they worked together; rotary cutter, cutting blades, and mat. I understood why my blades were not cutting after a few uses. I ordered the mat, wow! everything they said was true. What an effortless cutting experience. No more shoulder pain from arthritis flare up cutting out a project. I had been using their rotary cutter for several years with a different brand mat. Even bought another mat which turned out to be too hard and was dulling the rotary blade even quicker. So glad I now have their mat.

This is the best mat I have ever used. The measurements on the mat are perfect and the cutting is easier.

Will last you a life time and doesn't leave cut marks.

This is an outstanding mat-been using it for a months and love it!
