Q: Can this be placed in the microwave or would you advise heating the oil in a separate microwave safe bowl beforehand if an oil is best used heated?

I definitely would not put this in the microwave. Also, I would suggest the heated oil not be too hot. My concern is not that the heat would melt or damage the silicone, but that since the silicone nubs are inserted into the handle, it might seperate. Good luck!

Q: Could you use this to dispense shampoo? Or would that be too thick?

Thank you for the great question! We have not tested the product with shampoo since it isn't the intended use, that being said, some shampoos may potentially work with the applicator, depending on how thick they are.
