Everything in the set is made of plastic.

Q: Does this have a list and diagram of possible models to make?

The kit I received came with a list of the contents and on the back had some inorganic examples that you could build. It's not a full list of possible models to make because the more complex models will need more elements, etc. The simple ones though are listed. For example: elements, hydrides, halides, metal oxides and hydroxides, non-metal oxides and acids, complex metal ions. Hope this helps.

Q: Is this kit or the 002 best for a gcse student who may do a level?

The 008 is specifically designed for Organic Chemistry and is adequately suitable for use at GCSE, and A Level. The 002 set on the other hands contains Specific components required to make the Shapes of Molecule examples, that is taught at A level and not at GCSE, so out of the 2 sets I would suggest that the 008 would be more useful for GCSE Chemistry. Yes, this kit includes one 6 hole sulphur which can be used to make an example of an octahedral compound.
