The media could not be loaded. Hilarious, my 15 year old loved it! We all walked around pushing the button for days. And, for what it’s worth, saw some negative comments about the magic trick fake fingers that they pair with this purchase not fitting. They absolutely work with it. You just need to trim an inch off the bottom and cut a little wedge out underneath so that the tip of the plastic pointer fits all the way into the tip of the finger.

No damage to box, but item would not work. Switch would only stay in one position. Put batteries in and nothing happened. Had to return it.I contacted the seller and thy immediately exchanged the non-working one with a new one. Very good service. I had bought a different one on Amazon that was considerably more money because it does more than on/off. I much prefer the one I bought here more than the expensive one. This one looks good, operates smoothly, and consistently works. The more expensive one does not always work right. The more expensive one has an on/off switch and every time you want to use it, you have to turn it over and turn it on. What a pain. With this one, every time I pass by I can flip the switch a few times and it works! This one is far better and a lot more fun to use!

I've seen them do different variations of itself closing, however this once isn't it, but it is as it says useless box.Um requires 2 double AA batteries, quality looks good afar, but maybe questionable reliability.

Other than installing two batteries, no assembly was required. This is a well-made, good looking wooden box which serves no function other than providing laughs and smiles. It gave my teenage granddaughter giggle fits. Even after the newness wore off, she still could not resist toggling the switch. For that matter, neither can I. My only suggestion for improvement would be to replace the clear plastic striker (which turns off the switch) with a realistic looking hand or paw.

A lot of other reviewers complain about these useless boxes being poorly constructed or completely not working. I did not have that experience - it feels sturdy and works just fine. As others have said, the little arm comes out very fast, but that's only a minor complaint. A good choice for anyone trying to find a useless box at a decent price.

OK, this box functions as intended but major points subtracted from two huge flaws. The box I received is well made and sturdy. I take from a perfect score, one, as many others have noted, the action is waaaaayyy too quick. Blink and you missed it. Two, the "finger" that flips the switch is crystal clear! Not only is it lightning fast, but the mechanism can't be seen because it is clear. I had 5 people try it and none of them knew what happened. They assumed the switch they flipped just opened and closed the lid. Big deal. Most didn't even have time to move their hand away from the switch before the action was completed. The cuteness and entire idea of the box is ruined because you can't tell what is going on.To get a 5 star review...slow the opening of the lid by 75% so the gag can develop at a "creepier" rate. Also, use a color piece of plastic for the finger. Certainly not clear. Red maybe? Or, make it a small Mickey Mouse-type of glove with a pointed finger.The box is well-named as it is useless since the action is far too fast and the finger unrecognizable due to the color. The intended gag and novelty are lost if it is nearly too quick for the human eye.

This sits on the counter and without fail, at least once a day someone in the family walks by and flips the switch. It’s an enjoyable little gadget.

Mine wouldn't power on even with new batteries and checking the connections. I wanted it to work. Regardless, kind of a wimpy box. A little too small and flimsy for me.
