Its mostly for the weight. but it helps for stability if u don't walk while shooting

You can. But I do not recommend, b/c the problem is, if you walk it defeats the purpose of the rs2 as the line from the flow line when walking will counter act your gimbals steadiness. The flow line is meant to hold the weight of the camera when you are stationary. (So you can work longer.) When you walk w it; the image is that of a swaying handheld shaky look. If you’re looking to do smooth pans, sure, will look solid. But the second you start adding any forward or reverse movement, the rs2 will become nullified. Hope this helps. I had the exact same setup, ended up using the flowline on one shoot and was very unhappy w the results— now I just shoot w the rs2 and put it down in between shots on the tripod legs it came with.
