This is the natural all-trans form produced by fermentation, not the cis form produced by chemical synthesis.

Q: Any plans to protect the ubiquinol from oxidation into the ubiquinone form? Alpha lipoic acid is added in one Kaneka product for this reason.

Ubiquinol is always protected from oxidation. This is verified by the ubiquinol supplier, Kaneka, to approve companies’ formulations as delivering a stable unoxidized form in a special delivery system that protects contents from oxidation while the enhanced solubility of that matrix also enhances bioavailability. We do stability testing to confirm the robustness of our product as formulated and packaged to properly resist oxidation. ALA is more likely to work in the body than protect the capsule’s contents, and is not necessary in a suitably formulated product.
