yes ...you will have to get it programmed at your local car stereo shop ... it is compatible with nissan smart key vehicles..

Will this work on a 2003 kia sportage ex ?

I know this is an old post but according to description and other research it does work with chip keys. It's kind of the point of the device.

This will only work as an add on for a dei remote start or alarm. This will control the keyless entry module. It will also bypass the security in the key. Keep in mind most aftermarket remote start systems and not designed to work with manual transmissions. If you have a manual look for a system than is manual compatible.
