One of the most comprehensive and practical books I own.

This publication is very comprehensive and covers a lot of material. As such it takes quite a lot of time and work to explore its many facets. Having only recently purchased the book I still have a lot to explore in it. At this early stage it appears to be the most comprehensive and well organised publication on remote sensing of vegetation on the market. It is also well organised, easy to navigate and well written. It reflects the committment of the authors to an excellent scholarly publication.

Anything you would ever want to know about RS for vegetative analysis, and even what you don't, is in this book. No casual reading, here, I bought it, and use it, as a reference book, which it certainly is.

Perfect book for understanding the aspects of remote sensing of vegetation. Great for a beginner.

Me lo enviaron rápido y el libro es excelente muy fácil de entender. Era la primera vez que compraba por este medio y quede muy satisfecha, lo volvería hacer de nuevo.

Ich werde meine Masterarbeit zu einem ähnlichen Thema schreiben und war auf der Suche nach einer Einführung, die nicht so oberflächlich ist wie allgemeine (deutschsprachige) Fernerkundungseinführungen (z.B. Alberts, zum allerersten Einstieg übrigens hervorragend geeignet) und trotzdem auch für den Nicht-Physiker, z.B. Umweltwissenschaftler, verständlich bleibt. Vor allem das Thema Vegetation kam mir immer zu kurz, weil meistens nur der NDVI kurz angerissen wurde. Dieses Buch fängt so ziemlich bei Adam und Eva an (elektromagnetische Strahlung etc.), was mir persönlich schon vertraut war, aber von Anfang an mit Verweisen auf die Sinnhaftigkeit für das Erkennen, Charakterisieren etc. von Vegetation, insofern lohnt es sich durchaus vorne anzufangen. Gut finde ich, es sind alle Formeln enthalten (was ich, wenn die Masterarbeit dann mal schreibe, sicher noch mal benötige), aber der Text erklärt die Formeln eben so, dass man versteht, was damit gemeint ist; es ist also durchaus möglich, über die Formeln hinwegzulesen. Insgesamt also sehr anschaulich, und dass das Buch von 2010 ist (jetzt gerade 2013), ist natürlich auch nicht verkehrt! Das Inhaltsverzeichnis gibt es einen guten Überblick, was drin steht, aber, wie gesagt, das Wie ist ja auch sehr wichtig und das kann ich absolut empfehlen!
