This is a nutritionally complete lab block appropriate for rats up to six months old. This food should be 80% of your rats’ diet. I prefer Oxbow because it doesn’t leave behind a big mess. My mice stash these pellets away to their hiding food spots as soon as I fill their bowls with some. They are pretty big pellets compared to a small mouse, but it seems to work for them

Okay...so your rats will probably hate the taste of this food but they will still eat it when they are hungry and that’s what is important.I supplement these with some festive and less healthy hamster food but only to get them to actually eat something between starvation strikes.I have two 3 month old rats and they are a very healthy weight and rambunctious little girls. Full of energy and life.I don’t know if I would recommend this food as they don’t like eating it but I have to recommend it because in all of my experience as an animal caretaker we have used Oxbow because Oxbow is simply the best.

This is supposed to be ye best rat food available. While some of my babies are picky with this, they're all fat and healthy. They all LOVE the adult version, but they can't get that until they're 6 months old because rats under 6mo need more protein.

This food is great! We give it to our mouse and he loves it! You do not have to control how much they have at one time, whcih makes it so much easier! Even thought the price is high, it is much, MUCH healthier than any cheaper food. Also, the fact that these are "lab blocks" may make it sound like a bad food for your pet, it is actually good for them. After trying Kaytee brand fiesta food, I noticed my mouse would pick out some more appetizing peices and throw the healthier bits of the food to the side. With this Oxbow food, you don't have to worry about that. If you want your pet to have a little bit of variety, throw in a few sunflower seeds and of course give them some fruit or vegetables. This food is the best and would have kept my pet skinny if it were'nt for the fact that I keep feeding him too many sugary fruits:) .... bottom line: THIS FOOD IS THE BEsT!!! NO QUESTION!!!
