Can’t tell you where they’re made, but I can say they are very durable and worth the purchase

It is as deep as a drink tray that a waitress carries, maybe a little over a half an inch deep.

The bottom is a smooth plastic type of material. There is NO skid resistant surface on the BOTTOM. The inside of the tray IS nonskid. This tray is like those used by wait staff in almost all restaurants.
