WindRider UPF 50+ All Season Neck Gaiter - Face Mask for Men and Women - Sun & Windproof Protection for Outdoor Activity

I initially chose this mask to wear when mowing the lawn, but I will also use it as a face mask during the COVID-19 epidemic. Without a mask, seasonal allergies can make me sick for a couple days each time I mow the lawn. I have been using a paper face mask while mowing for the last couple years, and it has helped a lot to prevent major allergy symptoms. However, when wearing the mask for 4 hours at a time, the elastic bands rub on my skin and it becomes very uncomfortable. I just received my WindRiver gaiter, so I don't yet know for sure how well it will filter allergens. However, I have tried it on, and it is definitely more comfortable than other types of masks I have used. There are no elastic strings to chafe the skin. In my opinion, it is also a more convenient option than other types of masks, especially if there is a need to put it on and off repeatedly -- as may be the case for use during the COVID-19 epidemic, for example, and you wish to remove the face mask when able to maintain social distancing, and put it back on when needed. In "gaiter mode", it stays comfortably out the way, around the neck, but ready to easily pull the top portion up for use as a face mask. Also, there is no worry about misplacing it. Other types of masks would typically be completely removed, but the gaiter is right where you left it: around your neck, readily available. Overall, these qualities make it a better option for me than other masks I have used. Also, I am happy with the quality of the material and the stitching of the seam and edges. After I use the gaiter for mowing, I will update this review with results on how well it filtered the allergens.UPDATE: My gaiter worked great at filtering the allergens while mowing. No problems breathing after mowing for hours today. My eyes, however, are extremely itchy, so I know there were allergens in the air. That is my confirmation the mask works.

As I’ve been adapting to running outdoors with face coverings, never being satisfied with the typical cotton of synthetic available I decided to give this gaiter a try. At 8.5” wide It’s form fitting across the nose and face which is essential, last thing I want to deal with is a covering that continually slips during use. I also wear glasses, and found that if I fold down the top edge 1-2 times it creates a nice seal that prevents my glasses from fogging during exercise. It’s also breathable, lightweight, and has UV protection which is going to be very handy as the summer months approach. Lastly, it’s easy to pull down to get fresh air during a workout and easy to pull back up when encountering other people. Great value overall, I look forward to lots of regular use. And, when we can safely roam without face coverings this will be great for travel, hiking, really anyplace dusty or sunny. Lastly, had a mixup with the color ordered and company responded quickly and solved the issue.

Great product. Easy to wear and very breathable material. The wash ability is so/so.. I wear tinted sunblock cream on face and neck. The stains did not come out after washing by hand twice or by machine 3x’s.

This is a great, lightweight product and does exactly what you want it to do. In addition to all the features noted in the product description, a side benefit that I love is that I can use it to prevent wind noise in my bone-conducting headset when I'm out walking. If you have such a headset, you know that the smallest amount of wind will prevent you from hearing any audio. I just pull the buff up over my ears and I have a secure covering that prevents wind noise. I have three of these buffs, so you know I love them.Two negative points:- When I wear the buff to cover my nose/mouth only as a pandemic mask, it is just a touch too small and it tends to slide down. I can pull it up higher over my ears to get it to stay in place, but I wish it was tight enough to stay on as a nose/mouth covering only (the only reason I gave it 3 stars for comfort).- The buff has a label inside that states the materials; the label is irritating, but I just cut it off (very minor inconvenience).

It works OK as a mask. It is made of a nice material and it does feels nice. I wouldn't use it during the summer if you're not in an air-conditioned area, otherwise it'll make you sweat quite a bit around your neck (which ends up making it feel kinda gross to breath through). I felt at times that it was a bit difficult to breath through, especially when damp, so you won't be using it all day without drying it or switching it out for another one. Also at times it felt a bit tight. I give this thing 3 stars, but I see how others could like it more. You'll have to try it yourself and see how you like it.

Used it yesterday at the gym and definitely could feel a difference. I currently have sun damage on my neck. Should have bought this months ago honestly. It's a nice thin and stretchy fabric. Doesn't feel extremely warm like a scarf would. My favorite color is pink so of course I went with this one. Very nice shade too. Honestly the price is not bad, especially when it comes to your health. You can't put a price on that.

Got this as an alternative face mask during the corona virus. I work in an uncomfortably warm building where I need to be able to interact with customers at a distance. The homemade masks with elastic bands were killing my ears. This mask is a little bit thinner than I would like but it’s very light weight, comfortable and dries quickly. It was so long that I was able to cut it in two and have a couple. It’s also so thin and dries so easily that I just wash it out in the sink (30 seconds) when I get home and let it air dry over night. The best part for me is that I can keep it around my neck when customers are not in the building then just pop it on when people show up. It does squish my nose a little but doesn’t hurt compared to straps biting into my ears.

I purchased this gaiter for hiking/camping/backpacking in the Southern US, where it is very hot and humid in the summer. This gaiter can be used wet to keep the neck cool, or can be used as a headband to protect the scalp (or hide dirty hair). Easy to wash and air dry quickly while on the go. The UPF protection is an added bonus.
