The Best for TV
I'm now on my second Avantree product for TV watching/listening. I've used their Audition Pro for many (many!) years and it has served me exceptionally well. But, since the headband is completely worn out and I've gone through a few sets of ear pads, I decided it was time for a replacement. Rather than try for another Audition Pro (I don't think they even still make it) I opted for the HT5009 headset/transmitter package. Very easy to set up the transmitter (I'm using the optical connection with pass through to my sound bar), and the headphones pair quickly and reliably. The headset fits my head and ears as well as the old Audition Pro - very light and comfortable. Sound quality is excellent and I can set the equalization for voice or music listening with a toggle on the headset. The transmitter will support two headphones and will even pair with my old Audition Pro but it isn't a good solution as the voice/video are not perfectly in sync with that old headset. I guess if you want to use two headphones with the transmitter then stick with the headphone model they recommend. One caveat, if you integrate your sound bar and TV via HDMI then the transmitter may not be the best choice as it has to connect via headphone cable or optical connection. And your TV must be set to use PCM output. This is OK for me but might not be for you. All in all, this is a really great solution for TV listening for long after your partner heads off to bed or if you have trouble hearing the dialog on some TV shows. I've not had to use Avantree tech support but there are all sorts of ways to contact them if needed and I feel they will be standing by for my call or email. Highly recommended.UPDATE: I found out that, depending on your TV and sound bar, you can connect your TV to the sound bar via HDMI (allows the TV to turn on/off the sound bar, adjust volume, etc.) and still use the TV's optical output to drive the Avantree headphone transmitter. Still have to set the sound output to PCM (and not Dolby, etc.) but the sound quality is still great on my sound bar. And, since the Avantree transmitter has an optical splitter built in, I now have an optical cable running from the Avantree transmitter to my old low latency bluetooth transmitter that connects to my old Avantree Audition Pro headset. Voila! Both new and old Avantree headsets now connect perfectly so I'm set up for two listeners at once. Even more recommended now.

Excellent Headphones Very Comfortable
These are very comfortable and the sound quality is excellent. It could not have been easier to set up. I'd almost call it foolproof but you know there is always someone that cannot figure out plug one end into base and other end into TV. But it is exactly that easy. Take the base, plug one end of the optical cable into the base and other end into the TV. Connect power and done. That's it. There is 1 extra step if you use a sound bar but its pretty much the same. Connect Optical cable from TV to Base then connect another Optical cable from Base to Sound Bar. There, done. And the sound bar works as before.I'd give these headphones 4.8 stars if I could. They are nearly perfect for me with only a couple of.....not complaints but irritations.Irritation 1... Cannot use when charging. Now with 40 hours of battery life you would think that this would not be an issue but there is no battery light to tell you how much charge is left and I prefer to let electronics run all the way down before recharging. Yes I know the manufactures say batteries no longer build charge memories but they DO. My phone is a perfect example, I never used it for more than 2 hours before putting on the charger and now my battery only holds a 2 hour charge. So it would be nice that when the headphones run out of power, I could then just connect a charging cable and charge while using it. Just a minor irk but still.Irritation 2... I dislike the charging cover. I must always find a tool to pop the cover so I can connect the charging cable. I know they made it like this to keep it looking nice and to keep it clean but it is still annoying. So much so I cut the d@mn thing off. I dont think it looks bad without it and I can clean it if it gets dirty.Irritation 2.5.... Not really a complaint or even an irritation just something that would make it even more comfortable. I wish the ear cups were slightly deeper. They work fine and they dont hurt or anything but they do push my ears just ever so slightly. So the rim of my ear touches the foam covering the speaker. If the padding on the cups was even 50% thicker my ears would not touch and I'd be happier. But unless you have ears that stick out like Dumbo, I dont think they will be too bad. Just one of those little things.Overall I am very please with these. I use them for TV watching and Gaming and am very pleased. On a side note. These have a very good distance. I used them yesterday while mowing the lawn. I turned on music on the TV and wore them while riding the lawn tractor and only once did I loose signal for just a sec at the far end of the yard., About 150 feet. I dont recommend them for this purpose but I wanted to see just what they could do. Anyway they ave excellent range.

Gets the job done
I am hearing impaired and have been looking for the best solution to watching TV through phones or buds that have no delay, can push the envelope on volume, and have excellent sound quality. These headphones basically deliver the basics of what's promised: an instant, no-paring required set-up that couldn't be easier, and low latency (no delay), which is key (I can't watch anything where there's even the slightest delay). The volume control has a limited range that's probably fine for most people and is basically ok although I wish it could be pushed a bit more to better accommodate my hearing loss. Comfort is ok enough - I'm probably maybe more sensitive than many and find I need to remove them a bit more frequently than I would like but YVMV. As for sound quality, it's fair at best. I'm not an audiophile, but if you have a true appreciation for good sound these phones are just kind of meh. Overall I'm just grateful to be able to watch TV with my wife where she has complete control of her volume coming through the set while I'm able to hear everything through the phones. With the quantum advances in technology over the years, I'm hoping one day to find a solution that checks all the boxes but for now these at least get the job done.
