I am a BIG mushroom lover & use them in a lot of my meals, Because of the lockdown & the coronavirus I was having difficulty getting a supermarket delivery slot (despite being disabled & classed as at risk due to some medical problems) & as I live alone & have no help close to me this was becoming an issue for me so I decided to start growing my own produce rather than keep worrying about where or when I was next going to be able to get food from.This mushroom kit has been wonderful, It had everything with it that I needed to set it up & was really easy to do. The only additional thing I needed was a spray bottle for the water.I was able to pick my 1st home grown mushrooms, Which were a really good size after just 9 days which was fantastic & they tasted fabulous!, After the 9 days i had a total of about 15 mushrooms. Since these i've had a gap of 10 days with nothing but i'm now having more grow again.I have found that tying the top of the plastic bag loosly with an elastic bag works much better than their suggestion of just placing the cut cardboard on the top & I only spray with water every 2 days & not daily.I'm really impressed with this kit & am looking forward to having my next lot of home grown mushrooms with my dinner. I am going to be purchasing another kit so that I have more of a supply but thats only because I eat A LOT of mushrooms!.

Follow the instructions to the letter.Do not ignore the great advice that is incuded with this product. Why did i buy the kit? Well as single oldie living with disabilities I can't get to a shop that sells mushrooms singularly, my only choice was a punnet of about 18 button mushrooms - too many to eat before they go off.So I bought the kit. After following the instructions, and having an occasional peek under the lid, I noticed the fungi growing on the top. Once you have mixed the special soil that is included with the exact amount of water, ensure you apply it over the whole of your plastic lined box, ensure it has a rough texture, do not smooth it out.I wish I could send you a pic of the 1st harvest! But I picked them all and but the babies in a hot frying pan with olive oil, garli, butter and seasoning.I'm now onto harvest number 3. After 8 days spray (not pour) water onto your harvest twice a day, without fail, the top surface should be moist, neither dry or waterlogged.In around 16 days you will have a lovely crop to enjoy. Warning, do not pull the mushrooms straight out of the soil, carefully twist the stem until it breaks away, pulling can cause damage to the substructure.Finally, and this is my Masterchef type tip, carfully wipe the mushroom before preparing, use a pastry brush, a bit of soil won't do you any harm, washing in water just makes them slimey.Be a devil, try tearing the whole mushroom into pieces, instead of getting jiggy with a knive. This gives your mushroom a better texture that can absorb more flavour.I have not been paid in anyway for this review. Go buy!

If you like mushrooms try this good harvest and fun to watch

I bought these for myself as a treat as i love mushrooms and would be great to have some fresh ones at home. The first batch was amazing, there was a lot of them and a lovely size too. Then i have not seen any for weeks and the second batch only had a few mushrooms in. Now i am waiting if anything appears again. Overall the flavour is nice and it is fun to grow, just a little pricy.

The Mushrooms never got any bigger than 10mm, this was a waste of time and effort

Bought 2 boxes as reviews suggested that these kits were successful.Followed the instructions but, after almost 3 weeks, had grown 6 mushrooms.As the weather was hot and dry (despite my keeping the soil moist throughout the day - not saturated), growth might have been affected.I am hoping that things will still happen otherwise I have just grown some of the most expensive mushrooms!.....even if they were delicious 😋🍄😋

I have used a couple of different mushroom grow boxes from other companies.Hwever the best that I’ve used is definitely this one..Instructions are easy to follow.My first yield was really good (in pics) & since picking them yesterday there are already tiny mushrooms growing through for the next pick.Definitely recommend this one

Easy to set up, not a lot to do accept water regularly. One box went to my father who had no mushrooms grow. I managed to grow and pick about 500gms before, what looked like fruit flies were attracted and it started to go mouldy! Simple set up but no real in-depth instructions for continued production. Keep in the dark, how to detract from flies, where to store etc. It says to harvest in one go but they came at different times and therefore different sizes etc, and didn’t say how small to still pick. I tried a different mushroom kit years ago and that too was not fruitful! Maybe it is down to the grower! I won’t be buying again.
