Bright and simple to fit - sort of
It's nice a bright and simply requires two spring clips to be screwed to the ceiling, and then the light clips securely in - BUT - one thing may cause issues for certain installations. I suspect many people will be replacing old failed flu fittings and this is slimmer and brighter. The snag is that flu fittings, being much deeper had the connection inside the housing. The old chock block fitting just sat inside. Now we have more modern connectors, but they would be fine inside. This fitting has no inside! On each edge is a slot running the length - about 6mm wide and deep and the unit has a pre attached and non removable two core (not 3) flexible cable. this runs in the slot with the intention that it goes through the ceiling and termination is done above. A couple of wages, pop through a suitable hole and the FT+E (no earth) sits in the cavity. In my case the ceiling was painted, but the new fitting cannot be centred on the hole, the hole must be offset to one side to allow the fixture cable to sit in the slot - revealing a strip of unpainted ceiling. I had to extend the hole, luckily on the right side of the joist, so it worked. Had the joist been on the other side, the unpainted section would have been visible. The fixture is bright, well made and I'd buy another, but the cabling isn't made very obvious.

Can I give this 6 stars please?
Just wow. So bright, so fresh, and so nice!Like many gentlemen of a certain age, I tinker on old stuff and fixing stuff a lot in the garage in the dark winter months, and my 2 strip lamps over the workbench are actually not in the right place, (not right overhead), and are pretty dim, and take around 30 seconds or so of flash flash flash, and then "plink" they are on.This new LED light gives you light quality equal to out-doors on a summers' day, and an even light from the whole length of the strip - meaning no shadows on my workbench.Fitting it took literally 30 seconds, as it is soooo easy to put up. It comes with 3 clips which you screw in to a supporting beam above, and it comes with the screws you need, (plus rawl plugs in case you are going in to brick or similar). You then clip it in place. It comes with about 1m of flex, meaning you can put it up, and then wire it whilst it is in place, (bye bye saggy cables). A couple of cable-clips nailed in place and you're done.Things I'd prefer? 1m cable was an unexpectedly nice addition, but for me, I was 2m away from my power source - so I had to get extra cable anyway. This lamp comes with a handy cable-clip to join the wires without soldering or jointing, however it was a bit flimsy for my liking, (the rest of the lamp is rock-solid construction BTW), so I didn't use their clip for the cable, and used a proper joint connector to be nice and safe for the decades of use this lamp will surely provide.I already look forward to pottering and fixing things, (fixed my son's laptop screen the other day, and an iPod doc, and even did some welding of a piece of agricultural equipment last weekend). However this new lamp makes it even more of a joy. Could not be more delighted with this, and at this price, it is amazing. No idea how long it will last - but my guess is "ages".

Impressed. Almost the light of my life.
It's always a minefield when choosing a light online. On this occasion I seem to have chosen wisely.Construction:It's lightweight. I mean really light. When I took down the old fluorescent tube and held this up I was pleasantly surprised that man/womankind had evolved this lighting solution for the better. Good work. It's made entirely of plastic so an earth is not required.Wiring:All pretty straight forward really. My situation was confused a little as the old wiring block had a small capacitor in-line which I understand to be a fluorescent tube requirement more than anything else to reduce noise/flickering etc. So once that was all understood I just needed to deal with the switched live situation as the fitting has two wall switch feeds. Again, easily sorted. And the light tested perfectly.Mounting:The clips to mount the light are effective and the channel to run the cable in works just fine. It's also at least as long as half the batten so can be mounted centrally. I've read other light brands not being able to do this. Shame on them.Summary:This is a decent light at a decent price. I have only 2 gripes which prevent it from being 5 stars:1) the protective plastic was trapped under one of the end caps. As it was the last thing I removed when all mounted up it was unnecessarily difficult to get every last bit that was caught under the end cap. Mildly annoying.2) it's always incredibly difficult to choose between the different whites available. Often times a white can look horribly blue and no one needs that in their life. So I err on the side of caution and went with warm white. It's as expected if not a bit too 'warm' in the sense it's quite yellow I suppose. So out of the two colours left available I'd be grateful if someone could tell me which would sit between warm white and the most starkest of whites as I'd like to order 4 more for my garage!

Nice, bright light!
I used this light to replace a single, cheap bulb that had been put up previously in the loft. It is very bright whilst coming in a sleek yet long form factor. Provides ample lighting in a low-weight package. Easy to put up and hopefully it will last me for years to come! Very happy - not much more one can add, since it's a light that switches on and off!

Replacement for another LED light
Current LED strip light in my workshop failed. Went for this one as it was relatively cheap and gave decent Lumens. Not the best energy rating but for what I use it for it will definitely do. Easy to install. Looks good. Decent size. All in all very happy with it.
