Perfect replacement
Nothing worse then a broken rope on an extension ladder. Never a good replacement from the local hardware store. Great fit and functional

It's a ladder rope.
Do you have a ladder without a rope? Don't let your ladder be sad, make it happy with a high quality replacement rope! That's all, it's a ladder rope. No further explanation necessary, buy it if you need one.

It's a rope
I had replaced the rope on my ladder before with a braided rope with a core in the middle. It lasted for many years, and if not for the pulley being damaged and the rope constantly slipping off or catching on the pulley, I wouldn't have searched for a new rope. Since I was replacing the pulley, I decided to get a new rope, and most ladders come with a rope like this. So for the same price as 50 feet of cheap braided rope (with a core) with the excess I don't need, I decided to try this. And it's fine. I'm not a ladder extremists who races to see how fast they can get their ladder up or down, but I have seen reviews that say this type of rope is hard on hands and can burn you if you lower it too fast or when it gets older it gets splintery. I can see that, and if I need to replace it again, I'll probably look around for a softer, nicer, real braided rope (not with a core in the middle), like a boat dock line, and if not too expensive go that route.

Good Replacement, with One Reservation
This is the same type of rope that came on my 28 ft extension ladder. That rope lasted for 25 years, most of which was outside. Since it comes with a loop on one end, you will only have one knot to tie. Given the the directions which came with the rope were mostly useless, I’d suggest looking on YouTube. I found one video there where the guy used a bowline knot. That’s perfect for this application, and I can verify that the knot is holding tight with this rope. The only negative with this rope is that it can be tough on the hands while raising or lowering the ladder. I wear a pair of gloves to avoid this problem.

Great Replacement Rope
This extension ladder replacement rope was much better than the one I replaced. Installed per instructions. Great purchase for this application.

Werner Extension Ladder Replacement Rope
I purchased the Werner AC30-2 Extension Ladder Replacement Rope for my 32 ft Werner ladder. This was after I attempted to replace the original rope using a product from the orange big box down the road. Needless to say, the rope from big orange WAS NOT THE SAME as that which came with the ladder. Both the diameter and the grip of the rope were less than satisfactory. I found the Werner replacement on Amazon.com and went ahead and ordered it.After installing it, I found my ladder was back to the original "feel" when adjusting it using the Werner rope- the diameter is correct for the pulley system and the grip of the rope is more positive than the big orange rope I had tried as a replacement. In addition. the Werner replacement came with the crimp-able connector which eliminated the need for the bulky knot that resulted with the other rope. I feel both the better grip of the rope and the elimination of the knot improve the safety of the ladder when using the Werner replacement.

Good Replacement Rope Assembly
Works fine on my Louisville 24-footer. Very easy to install if you RTFM and watch what you are doing. Rope assembly is made in China. Came with crimped loop already installed on the load-bearing end. No crimp supplied or needed at other end, your favorite stay-put knot will work fine. No chafing damage found as mentioned in some other reviews. Rope is somewhat slick when handled with bare hands so use gloves when extending or retracting ladder.

It works
It does what it is supposed to do. The little pulley at the top of my 28 foot ladder broke. Since everything is about 40 years old, I decided to replace everything. I found a real pulley (not the cheap little thing that came with the ladder, although it did last many years). I adapted the pulley to the ladder, and used this rope to replace the old frayed one. Everything works great now. Good for another 40 years.
