Very helpful
It’s really helpful how it explains, and compares English grammar as well as Russian. I need that. I still have a long way to go with this language but now I have a foundation and I know it’ll come to mind when i need it.

Great Supplementary Material
As a native speaker of English, it's been years since I gave much thought to English grammar. That is, of course, until I gave this book a chance. It hadn't occurred to me that the best way to understand another language could be to have a better grasp on my own. English and Russian are directly compared section by section in this little book. Grammatical constructs are clearly delineated and accompanied by many helpful examples. This is by no means comprehensive, but it is nonetheless a good supplementary resource.

A Concise Summary of English Grammar as Related to Rusian
I’m using it as a supplement to my Rusian language textbook. Recommended by my Russian teacher. I also have the French version.

Surprisingly informative
As someone who has recently began studying Russian, I've bought 4 general grammar books, including this one. After having read through them all, I have to say most of them are pretty bad for explaining basic grammar and sentence structure. This one is the best of the lot, and actually shows you how sentences are structured and gives a very good explanation of some of the more annoying and difficult aspects of Russian grammar, such as "cases."Most other books I've read-even when claiming to be "beginning" books-have very little beginner info in them. They go from extremely basic sentences ("this is a book") to fairly complex sentences almost immediately, but there is no good, practical, beginner sentences in them. For example, "I went to the store," or "I want to buy a book," or "I am watching TV."This book isn't perfect, and it really isn't meant to be a full-fledged grammar book, but it seems to be the one I am coming back to the most for the nuts and bolts of basic grammar. Given the fact it's quite cheap, i'd say you really have nothing to lose here. Give it a try.

Simple, easy explanation as it relates or differs from Russian. Buy the book!
It is very easy to understand. When in school some classes(those thought to be college material) were taught complete English sentence diagramming and sentence structure, complete grammar. I on the other hand was put in composition English which stressed writing and less grammar. Now I suffer at my old age, not knowing English grammar, studying Russian. I think this will help me really understand the similarities and differences of English versus Russian.Perfect book to learn from. Gives examples of English sentences(parts of speech) and then Russuan similar sentences with explanation of differences!I am impressed.

A gift from the language gods!
This is a remarkable text, It's clearly written, contains appropriate examples and really helps to clarify some of the murkier aspects of Russian grammar. There's a BONUS too! Particularly for the older student whose English-101 and 102 classes were four or five decades ago. The subjunctive mood, the perfect tenses, relative pronouns, and much, much, more are presented succinctly and lucidly. I have about a "Gillion" Russian grammar texts and believe that if I had to keep only one it would be this one.jb
