No Mystery Meat adapters!
Top notch build quality, solid, works as described, and you *know* what connections are made and exactly where.USAGE HINT: If you're considering using a trs-to-rca converter to go from unbalanced to balanced, use one of these and a shielded xlr cable instead. You'll get a serious boost in noise rejection. It's not going to be as good as using a DI box for a proper differential run, but the shielding in the mic cable will work in your favor.I'm using these to go from unbalanced pre-amp to balanced monitor inputs, and found they work just fine in the place of a DI box *in this particular application*.There are other ways of using these adapters, and if you're a sound engineer you know about all of those already and all you need to know is these seem to be built like a tank.

Great sturdy Single Female RCA to XLR Male Connector
From the manufacturer HOSA Tech:''This adaptor is designed to adapt a phono plug to an XLR input. XLR pin 3 is grounded resulting in an unbalanced signal.''I worked great to plug in an unbalanced rca source (i.e: a stereo mixer(but using an single rca to dual rca splitter) ) to my active/powered Behringer B312D. The signal is totally clean and does not get affected by using this adapter. I think is a great product, worth it's price ! Highly recomend it !

Works, but isolated ground
Seems to work well and has pin 3 ground connected, but have an isolated shield.

Worked great with a quick modification
I had a nasty ground loop and I finally traced it to a pair of these adapters. Jumping pin 1 to pin 3 is common practice when going from an xlr output to an rca (or tr) but leaving them separate is usually the best practice on the input end. Since these are male xlr adapters, I can't see these being used very often on the output side. Luckily it's easy enough to unscrew the body of the connector and snip the jumper between 1 and 3 to do a "ground lift".

Far too many adapters have crap solder joints inside
They do exactly what you would expect them to do. Far too many adapters have crap solder joints inside, causing crackles and pops if you so much as touch them or a butterfly farts within 25sq mi of them. These DO NOT. I do not like to gamble on new brands, and prefer to stick with what works. I will now look to Hosa Technology in the future as needed.***UPDATE*** 9.22.2020 I still have several of these. They roll loose in the bottom of gear bins. Get dropped in dirt and puddles. Lost and then found. One was left in the grass up north after an annual party. Was found the next year by the lawn mower and still works. The nice hard case begs to be abused. Buy with confidence!

Crystal clear sound. Hefty.
These feel hefty and engage the XLR inputs with a satisfying CLICK. HOSA HQ is in Orange County, CA. They are a trusted brand since 1984. I would recommend them to a friend.

compact form and works fine
Simple and works IF this is the actual conversion you need and don't need a ground lift or signal pad. My mixer has a pad switch for the XLR inputs so it can handle a line-level signal. If you need a ground-lift or need to drop from "line level" to "mic level", then this is not the device you need.
