Had the same type several years ago when I was in the military and travel well. Just downsize from a bigger grill and very pleased that this grill is the same as it was with the improvement of not having a grate on the ash tray. Just be careful when putting together since some of the screws shown do not match what you use and pay attention to the which is the front so you put the proper legs in the right spot.

Quality control department must be on vacation.First off, the side tables are loose inside and the metal ends of the attachment areas were able to rattle / move around enough to scratch the inside or the bottom section pretty good. Sharp metal edges against smooth painted surfaces are a bad idea.Second, there was 1 nut missing. Not the end of the world.Third, the top and bottom pieces were stuck tightly inside of each other and I needed to pry apart with screwdrivers stuck in the small space between them. This ended up bending the edges.Lastly, the 3 holes going through one of the legs, did not get drilled straight. They were at slight angles which would not allow the bolt to pass through. I had to drill them out better to line up. P!ss poor workmanship.!!

Excellent, especially for the price. Very difficult to assemble. There weren't any missing parts. I recommend it.

Once assembled the grate raising mechanism caused an imbalance of the grate which would certainly allow food to slide off. Don’t take a chance on loosing your BBQ into the charcoal.A much better design would allow the charcoal pan to raise and lower with the food grate remaining securely positioned.

This is a no frills Grill. It has adjustable handles to help get the right distance from the coals and the fold down side tables are a nice touch of convenience. This is my second; the first one lasting me 15 years. I truly love this grill. I’d buy it over and over again and again. The last one I had, I made the mistake of putting too much charcoal in and caught it on fire, being too hot. The bottom finally gave out and I’ve been searching for a new one for about 3 years. I finally broke down and paid the price. A little steep, but I really love this grill.

My dad had one of these years ago and used it until the bottom fell out. I wanted one of the same. Loved the functionality of this grill and have so many fond memories as a child. WARNINGTHIS IS NOT THE SAME GRILL. yes I get that things change and planned obsolescence is a real thing nowadays. But come on. The shipping packaging was so poor that I didn't even have a chance to put it together. This thing came beat to hell. The top and bottoms are literally stuck together all the components are flying around in the box scraping the paint. Lots of dents and even bent pieces. The charcoal grate looks used. There are a few small holes in the box so I'm not even sure all the hardware is in there. Praying the replacement isn't in the same shape.

I had one of these 30 years ago. I LOVE the adjustable grill!Make sure to get the side tables. You will be glad you did.I have gas grills, but missed having the "charcoal flavor" on my meats.

Although the MECO grill is my all-time favorite, there is a difference between our original, that finally wore out after many years, and this new one. The new one is not as heavy and stable but it will work for us. It's easy to use and dump and the shelves are great. There were no scratches, dents or imperfections in any of the parts. Assembly directions were not too confusing. All said, shipping was super fast, so Happy Fourth with new grill.
