After a couple of keys on my laptop broke off, I really didn't want to have to buy a whole new one. If I hadn't already replaced the hard drive in my 15 with an SSD, I probably wouldn't have attempted the installation. You just need to remove the screw on the bottom of the laptop with the keyboard icon beside it. Then you use a prying tool (I had one in the tech tool kit I picked up), pop off the original one and be careful not to tear the ribbon. You don't have much spare slack to work with, so just be careful. Once it was installed it works great. All of the keys work and register and it actually feels like I can type faster with this keyboard than with the profile. Good buy for the money.

I was throwing away my trash and i found an hp laptop sitting on the top of the trash bin. I opened it and the screen wasnt cracked and it looked nice so i said, what the hell ill see if it powers on and maybe i can fix it. I had to buy a power cord cuz it didnt have one. When i got it powered on, i realized why they threw it away. Most of the keys on the keyboard didnt work. So i got my wireless m/k and that work, so there was hope. I looked up a video on youtube on how to replace it and all i really had to do is remove one screw and use a guitar pick to jam in the corners to remove the keyboard. I bought this replacement keyboard and boom everything works. Took me about 30 mins probably would have been less because the video didnt show how they release the ribbon cable. A quick search on google is all it took. Turn on the laptop before reassembling to test keyboard. Typed all the keys and they all registered. Oh just a tip when snapping on the keyboard, dont be afraid of the snaps and use a pencil the eraser side to push down firm from one corner to the other so it can sit flush.So all in all easy to do, keyboard sits flush, all the keys work and the price was cheap. Great buyIts been few weeks and keys still work.

I'll start by saying that this has no discernable differences from the oem HP keyboard. It fit perfectly where it needed to, all keys are whisper quiet and work splendid and felt just as sturdy as the replacement keyboard. If I were to change anything it would be to include a small device to help pry the old keyboard out and extend the ribbon just a bit to accommodate large fingers/hands but overall it was a great keyboard for the price and came well packaged. I tested it and all keys were very nice and functional. Great buy!

Caps lock2. f6/Sound toggle3. f12/Wi-Fi toggleAlso, one of the keyword's two attachment points located underneath does not align properly with the laptop's case to permit both of its fasteners to be used. With the keyboard out, they can be screwed into the keyboard without issue. Several attempts yielded identical results, with the fastener nearest the keyboard not being permitted to engage.Clearly, the keyboard delivered to me had been REPACKAGED. It is advertised as "New Original". Not only was it not new or original, it had not been reconditioned, nor had it been thoroughly inspected for full functionality as a salvaged unit.Fortunately, the agent whom I spoke with at Amazon was very helpful; she issued me full credit without requiring a return of the defective keyboard. High marks for Amazon.It may be possible that what happened to my order was an anomaly. However, my first experience with the vendor TLBTEK was not good.
