Worked good on my scanner helped bring in some father channels

This was the third antenna I purchased for the SDS100 and the only one that gave me good clear reception. I live in a very small coastal town with other cities 10 miles away. I am sure if I was in Los Angeles, I wouldn't need this antenna, but for my coastal needs, it is Five Stars.

I don’t like how the coupler fits because it doesn’t fit flush with my scanner like factory antenna. They need to revise this part.Another issue is it was extremely difficult to lock on antenna. Swivel mechanism is difficult to turn and lock on.Antenna is very long and not practical in most situations. You won’t be walking around with this due to length. Also due to the length I feel the adapter should sit flush on the scanner.My biggest issue is the adapter only threads about halfway on to the male antenna connection on my scanner. I fear the movement of the antenna may weaken the antenna post on the scanner. So much so that It made me feel uncomfortable to leave this antenna on the scanner for any length of time. Fearing a fall may damage the antenna post on the scanner during impact. If this adapter piece fit snuggly to the scanner I would feel much better about using it.I have tried it a few times and really didn’t notice any better reception than with the factory antenna.I’m not really sure how I feel about the this product purchase. I like the idea of it. However the flaws with the adapter have really made me question the entire purchase. I shouldn’t be concerned that using the product could possibly cause issues due to the connection fittings stability. If it weren’t for that I’d probably use it more frequently and have a different opinion.

BCD436HP. Works as advertised. I'm getting better reception and much better distance on frequencies. Better in my opinion than the stubby factory antenna. However the long antenna is kinda of a pain unless you plan on just propping up the scanner on a table or something, where it won't get knocked over.

Also good to a extra antenna but not much of a difference

I wish I had read the 1* reviews first. Does not work with the BCD436HP. I can mount it with the flimsy adapter provided but there is too much play. I'm afraid it's gonna pull and damage the internals on the scanner. Will be returning. Also, when I do connect with the flimsy adapter there is zero improvement over the original antenna.

Great antenna. Much better than original. Use the Trunk Tracker IV more of a radio than a scanner and I can now get many clear stations than the two or so before - which in my case is not too important as I only listen to 1 or 2. But would bet I could get a whole bunch more scanner frequencies to hit now also. Great item I am glad I bought.

This antenna made a significant difference with my Uniden BCD436HP. If you still have the adapter that came with your scanner, use that, it's a better fit than the one that comes with the antenna. Do be aware due to its length, this does make the scanner a bit top heavy, and if you usually set your scanner on the coffee table like I do, it may take a few rounds of knocking it over, as I have set done many of the times in with the did. a few times.Otherwise. Awesome!
