Wish I knew about these long ago
They 100% work. I didn't think they would when I bought them, but I have been through command strip after sticker hooks, etc. This was my Last hope, and then I was to drill a hole somehow. Now I can hang things on the stucco wall on the lanai.

Magic
No idea how they work but they do! Easy to use. I have concrete walls and was easily able to hang artwork with these.

Won't work on Brick
I bought three packs to install pictures to a brick wall. When the pins didn't fall out, they bent without penetrating the brick face. After three attempts I gave-up. On two of the installations, all of the pins fell out before I could strike with the hammer. I spent the majority of my time hunting and replacing pins.

Surprisingly strong
I was so nervous when I saw how small the nails on the back of these were but this item was amazingly strong! It was extremely easy to hammer them into my rock wall fireplace. I have hung a mirror (less than 10 lbs) and have no issues with strength!

Well that was a bust.
Didn't work for me. I wanted to use these to hang a picture on the basement wall (cinder block walls). The pins popped out the front when I tried to gently hammer them in, which led to a frustrating search for tiny pins on the floor. I finally got them in and they just crumbled the cinder block wall. They do seem solid/sturdy if they would work. Maybe you would have better results on different surfaces once you get the hang of them (no pun intended), but didn't work for my purposes.

or they will break easily. I broke two
As others have said, you have to be precise in how you nail these in, or they will break easily. I broke two.You have to have the right backing to hang something on them, as the hook is quite thick. Would work best if you had a wire running through the back of the whole picture. It does not work on regular picture hanger backs.
